Hillary was chosen by the DNC in 2008, and Barry fucked that up. She hated him, yet goes to work for him to stay in for 2016. 2016 was so fixed, no democrat even ran other than Bernie.

How in the hell does that help in other states? Even other blue ones?

I'm mocking the Dems strategy. They clearly don't know what they're doing. They should have selected a POC (not necessarily woman) from WI, MI, FL, OH or other potential battleground states to pander to the base. Home State bump is a real thing, which does nothing for the Dems picking Harris from CA. It was stupid. That was my not well laid out point.

Yes, but two things.

1. Harris was always the choice
2. Sleepy joe went off script when someone asked him if he would commit to selecting a woman and said yes.

There are powerful women out there, even my own wife is super successful. I'm not sure I'd ever trust a woman to run the country as sexist as that sounds though. Hence why I mentioned a POC as a VP for Biden but not a woman. It was a major tipping point for me in 2008 with McCain and Palin ticket. Wasn't a huge fan of McCain either way, but Palin was the final nail in the coffin that got me to vote Obama. Despised Hillary and didn't trust Trump in '16, so only voted down ballot.

I'd guess picking Harris moved the needle 1-2 points towards Trump for men and only maybe 0.5 points for Biden from women. It really was a god awful decision. I don't think the race will be close, so it's probably not relevant, but doesn't negate her as VP pick being awful. If anyone was being honest, Hillary lost because she was a woman. Some legacy issues as well, but men don't trust a woman to run things. It's a valid opinion when I look at my own widowed mom and MIL. They are frankly helpless. It's my part time job dealing with their shit. Although my BIL's are piles of shit too, so everything falls on me.

I don't have a problem voting for a woman, but if you notice, the Dems always trot out the most obnoxious women devoid of logic. Bad idea. I've had the pleasure of meeting plenty of women in my life who were intelligent, composed, and logical. I've also met way too many women who were intelligent but illogical, and at least once of month completely fucking bonkers.
203   clambo   2020 Nov 3, 8:00am

Women are innately different from men, but they are generally unaware of the ways.

I explained a difference recently to a female who is broke, and hopes that I “help” her.

Firstly, I said don’t call it help, say you want some money.

Anyway, males are competitive all their lives; we compete for good grades, we compete for jobs, we compete in sports for fun, we compete for money and we compete for girls.

When a bleeding heart female suggests “helping” someone, I say “I consider my money the results of winning a competition with lazier, dumber, weaker guys, and you want to take it from me to give to the losers?!?!”

I don’t call my money money to these chicks; I call it my blood, sweat and tears.

You can be goddamn sure no female gave money to anyone unless she had a rich male partner and she thought they could easily afford it.

I can’t afford a dime.

So did the R's with Palin though. That was the point. Once women get put under a microscope, it all goes to shit much of the time from what I've witnessed. They don't have the who gives a fuck filter, I'm gonna do it my way. They question their moves too long and it comes back to bite them. Men and women are different animals. There are unicorns out there that are women, but I'd rather have someone make a decision and not overthink it. Most women do that. When a nuke is coming at you at mach 2, time goes out the window.

Yes, but women can be very competitive as well, competing with other women for successful, attractive men.

That's true, and I couldn't vote for McCain either. I mean, I watch him change his mind on so many issues and he appeared to be losing it as well. The whole Palin thing was just stupid. But, the fact remains, I've seen plenty of females in politics running on a Republican ticket that seem to be normal. Dem ticket...never.

With good reason. Women's interests are inherently very different from men's:

Women are not killed by invading armies. They are too valuable for reproduction.
Men are disposable.

Even male chimpanzees protect the borders of their territories against male
invaders. Female chimpanzees have no interest in defense, because like human
women, they find the winning male sexy, since he has proved himself in battle.
If he can kill her own males, he can also protect her.

Women are disinclined to maintain borders. They unconsciously hope for an
invasion of sexy foreign men who prove themselves more dominant than their own
men. This is a valid argument against women's suffrage.

BTW, my wife received a text today at 5am that said "Stay safe today, stay home." Sounds like they don't want her to vote. Then it was repeated later.

Not sure who exactly would be behind that.

Where is that reported ?

What I'm concerned about is 4.5 million of the 6 million Florida mail-in ballots have been returned so far.

But the mail in votes have to all be counted!

As per:

Pissed at my neighbors. They're voting for Trump, but dumped their mail in ballots yesterday.... Have zero clue why they didn't vote in person. No way their vote ends up getting counted unfortunately. Smart people too. Don't get it.

All the local media outlets were saying mail in ballots needed to be in by last Thursday here in IL. I could be wrong, but it's what I heard. Might be a state by state thing?

Now over 160. Coming close to a full point lead.

300k in NC, Close to a 3 point lead. Not such a swing state!

.

From my calculations with the 2016 election in Bay County, FL (home of Panama City), at least about 75% of independent voters went for Trump. Trump got 71% of the vote in Bay County in 2016. He also won 62,000 votes in the county.

It's a bad sign if he does not get at least 65,000 votes and 70% of the vote in Bay County, FL. That may mean he does not fare as well in demographically similar (75% white, non-hispanic) counties in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, etc.

******Also, pay attention to Nash County, NC (41% African American 54.5% White); it went 49.3% for Trump , 49.1% for Clinton, and 1.6% for libertarian Gary Johnson.*******
