In my opinion, it’s a colossal pump-and-dump scheme, the likes of which the world has never seen. In a pump-and-dump game, promoters “pump” up the price of a security creating a speculative frenzy, then “dump” some of their holdings at artificially high prices. And some cryptocurrencies are pure frauds. Ernst & Young estimates that 10 percent of the money raised for initial coin offerings has been stolen.

The losers are ill-informed buyers caught up in the spiral of greed. The result is a massive transfer of wealth from ordinary families to internet promoters. And “massive” is a massive understatement — 1,500 different cryptocurrencies now register over $300 billion of “value.”

Nice bromide there, but please explain how a ransomware crook would collect without an untraceable payment?

Just Bromiding.

Are bitcoin transactions truly untraceable?

I'd say no.

I'd say no.

Then wouldn't it be simple to find out who collected the payments and arrest them? Plenty of motivation to prosecute when the victims are large corporations, police departments, government offices, and hospitals, and the ransom payments are usually large.

It's pretty well understood that the people blackmailing people is the government itself. The "equation group" is a bunch of assholes inside of the NSA. We KNOW who is doing that, but our government is the fucking criminals themselves.

Chart above is missing (at least) one important row:
Transaction Privacy: high, high, low
Transaction Anonymity: high, high*, high**

* serial numbers on bills can be tracked (e.g.: finding Lindbergh kidnappers using serial numbers of ransom)
** if a user is identified for a single bitcoin transaction, then all transactions with that address are deanonomized

Bitcoin Price Prediction: BTC Fails to Touch the Crucial Resistance
Looking at the daily chart, the bulls are struggling in keeping the Bitcoin price above the 9-day and 21-day moving averages, but the price is currently dropping below the 9-day MA. BTC/USD has been suffering since the European session as the technical indicator Relative Strength Index (14) moves to cross below 50-level. This could mean that the King coin is not yet ready for the upside.

Plans in the working and I haven't bought any crypto and don't have any plans to until the good ole USD plays out, probability says DXY 121 but will see.
1 marker taking place right now with BTC that wasn't in the past when BTC was dumping is stablecoins such as USDT USDC USDD etc. are loosing market cap instead of gaining, which means that money is going back to fiat and the banks this time as it will be with just about any asset you can name due to all the over leveraged players, including the paper trades on commodities, metals and oil imo Capitulation across the board is on the way and the EPIC deals on quality investments will be historical. Nope. Not an asset. Unless a spreadsheet/database of numbers all a sudden holds value. It's not even usable data for marketing or anything. It's the literal definition of worthless.

Didn't she make more than him? She also didn't want him to play football anymore. I'd agree with her. They're wealthy enough. Why get brain damage. You're considered the GOAT. I don't see anyone getting remotely near what stats he's achieved. He's going to end on a low note and lose a super model wife that still is hot at her older(ish) age. Some dudes are morons.

Don't pander to the woman, but for christ sake, football is the dumbest sport on the planet. He should have retired by now. Or maybe he's bad with money? Who knows. There's no point in playing anymore. Plenty of endorsement and commentary opportunities to bring in 7 figures easy.

Nvidia is a better short than AMD because AMD has less reliance on mining hardware.

Nobody would never answer me when I used to ask. "What happens when the guy who's Hardware, your BitCoins are running through, runs off with the hard Currency backing the Bitcoins?"

They never liked hearing that, the notion that Cash backs Blockchain digital currency. It's supposed to be the other way around the blockchain is backing the dollar, they said.

What a brilliant Ponzi scheme. Even the Fed Chief was suckered into considering converting our whole economy over to it.
