#lovingnatureinthepandemic Yesterday was a beautiful day here with sun, warmth, and no clouds in the sky. After fixing lunch, I spent a lot of time up on the deck relaxing and looking at my beloved Pacific Ocean. ("The Pac.")
There is only one good way to escape the harsh realities and limitations of this pandemic. Be in nature. You can relax. You can dispense with your mask, gloves, face shields, etc. You do not have to be looking around all the time to make sure that you maintain proper social distancing. It lowers your level of tension. It gives you perspective. It makes you feel wonderful to be alive. When you are in nature, do not look at your phone. You do not want to be reminded of more bad news about the pandemic.

They have absolutely no idea there is still a "pandemic" - because there isn't. Their mayors and governors aren't putting them through house arrest.

You're not really looking to escape a "pandemic", you're looking to escape a false tyranny imposed upon you - where riots, looting, arson are allowed, but meeting up with friends and going out to dinner isn't.

Yup, it's sad. Chicago is back under house arrest from black Bettlejuice and land whale Pritzker. As I slowly extend my middle finger and go to Cancun Monday. You should hear the rhetoric here that still isn't on display in reality. People are soooooo blind to the lies. Just look. Like literally open your eyes and look.

I have a broken heel and hospitals are dead. I've had 4 appointments and I get in and out in under 20-30 minutes. Usually that's how long I wait in the waiting room. Have quite a few nurse friends and they're not seeing what fatty Pritzker is spouting off on a daily basis. My podiatrist 100% has medical training that could be put to use if hospitals are overwhelmed. We're not even close to capacity on anything. It's a joke.

I'm convinced something else is going on. This "8th wave" or whatever number we're on is cover for something.

Election fraud. I was wondering why we’re still doing covid after the election since it served its purpose. I think they are trying to distract from the other story going on right now.

That's where I was leaning. Went up to throw last nights beers in the recycling bin this morning and literally heard that they're asking people to cancel their Thanksgiving in the Chicagoland area. A news outlet in the top 3-4 largest metro areas in the country. I hate the holiday myself, but serious, cancel your Thanksgiving? We usually have different local affiliates on in the background, ABC, NBC and WGN and they're all saying this.

Never thought in my lifetime we'd cancel one of the biggest American traditions. And no, I don't care how people feel about it, as in the history. I hate the food for sure, but getting people to not socialize with family is dangerous. That's too much control on people and their minds. Broken record.... Orwell. They've got us going on uniforms at this pace with the mask mandates. Scary.

Might have had a go at canceling Xmas as well, but that would not go over well with China, Amazon, and Walmart.

They will have to cancel Christmas because our supply chain from China still isn't up and running at full speed.
The retailers will not want Americans to see just how much we depend on China for everything, and just how much jobs they take from us.

Trump was going to bring it all back, Joe, is going to boot us on the forehead as we're trying to claw out of the doldrums Bush/Obama put us in.

I wonder how Civil War and the sounds of Revolution is going to sound from your rooftop sanctuary Jack?

This is true. I try to buy domestically, but have a couple items in shipping limbo since April from China. Items are cheap, so I frankly don't care, but shit is fucked up over in China for sure. I frankly think the country (China) might be collapsing. Covid can't explain this. We'll see.

I feel sorry for you that you think there is a pandemic to escape from.

Definitely a big positive that has come out of a negative situation. A lot more people have gotten out in nature, or even moved away from the city altogether.
