I heard that island is privately owned and being bought and sold every decade or so for several million $$. For the life of me I can't understand who'd want buy such a useless piece of land in the middle of the bay next to a bridge (noise!) and refineries.
@Onvacation and @Patrick, I’d love to join for a few hours of relaxing on the boat if I get invited. I can pick you up in Menlo Park on the way to SF Patrick. 😅
it's a Moto-X with the glass in front of the camera shattered.
Sounds like that could be an interesting back story.....
I dropped it.
I was forced to "upgrade" to 5G recently and AT&T sent me this piece of junk $50 "smart" phone. It's BARE MINIMUM, but it makes phone calls. I keep my Moto-X around though, because I hardly ever make phone calls, I use VOIP almost exclusively. I actually might drop my phone number in a few years.
I think the concept of a "phone number" might be going away within a decade. The quality is worse than VOIP, it works only on a phone. Your smartphone is legitimately a computer, what's the point of having a phone number at this point other than "it's what everybody uses"?
I'd also say, television is definitely dead. Netflix just announced that to subsidize their basic service, they are considering adding commercials. I find that hilarious, they are in decline now.
Darn. Could have been like: "Fell out of the pocket midway thru my ski jump...." "Still has the toothmark from the shark...." "Glancing blow from that bullet...." "Slid down the road when I spilled the Harley...." "Phone lens caught the tip of that knife, saving me from a pierced chest...."
April 6th picture looks like taken from Oakland area. Is that the case? San Juan Islands is a pretty long trip!
That particular picture was taken on the way out of Marina Bay Yacht Harbor, Richmond.
My friend just bought his boat in Bellingham Washington and invited me up. $350 round trip airfare and we are on day three of a cruise around the islands. Not a lot of wind, major currents, and natural beauty. We have been pretty lucky with the weather, so far.
That looks great. If you ever want to share life at 3 knots, let me know! Trying to meet more people with boats these days, as my past two sailboat friends have both sold.

Not without cannons and swords.
You have to build a cancel culture proof life, and they can’t touch you. It’s kind of what we are doing. Our simple life will not require much.
I think he was making a pirate joke.
I got that, was funny
No. I was being serious.
You better bring your cannon because I have my sword.
Argh!
Where does one legged pirate go for breakfast?
I hop
That joke would make a Jolly Roger cry.
Amen, brother. This is my strategy as well.
Avoid dependencies on the corporations (esp. banks) and the woke Nazis as much as possible. A simple life is a great advantage in this.
'
40ft? Are you renting it?
Noice!
What did you do, swim to shore and take a photo?
Are the tulips there as a sign of the times?
Friend's wife adding some color.
Old saying; It's better to have tulips on your organ than roses on your piano.
Dinghy, and I've never been a good photographer.
You don't have to be!
Take 50 pictures, of the same thing, pick one.
The only out of focus picture I've seen recently is yours and the one my phone takes - it's a Moto-X with the glass in front of the camera shattered.

Tucked up in Roche Harbor for the night.
Thanks for being my FBook replacement
