The Huns I knew said "Fröhe Weihnachten." I guess that is less formal. But then again, I saw this in a picture a German female friend sent to me as a Christmas card, which was herself in a bikini with "Fröhe Weihnachten." written on her body. (She was bragging about being in Hawaii). Maybe Frohe just took up less space.

Its either Frohe Weihnachten or Fröhliche Weihnachten. It means the same.
It cant ever be Fröhe Weihnachten.

Not that anyone notices the difference or cares. :)
