The Huns I knew said "Fröhe Weihnachten." I guess that is less formal. But then again, I saw this in a picture a German female friend sent to me as a Christmas card, which was herself in a bikini with "Fröhe Weihnachten." written on her body. (She was bragging about being in Hawaii). Maybe Frohe just took up less space.

German is very complicated but so is English. English is much easier to learn the basics to travel and even live abroad but perfecting English is equally interesting/challenging. Love English, it has many eloquent words, new ones to learn every week.
