We need a thread for our "vice President". I'll start with when she was having cocaine fueled orgies with Montel Williams.

Last Tuesday, Kamala Harris gave A Very Important Speech at “the Ellipse,” which Wikipedia says is an elliptical lawn near the White House in Washington D.C. The German press and the American press were very happy about this speech. They told me that it was Harris’s “closing argument,” in keeping with the campaign fiction that Harris is a fierce prosecutor sticking it to the evil unbalanced orange criminal incumbent Donald Trump, who has been ruling the United States with an iron fist for the past decade. They told me that Harris’s words were enormously wise and tolerant and that they struck just the right tone and that they were sure to win over poor people and undecided centrists and right-leaning young men.

St. Thomas outside of the cruise port is chicken and trash. It's one of my favorite places to go. Good people, poor government with the cruise ship industry. Go to Magen's Bay. Or Coki. Let me know what you think.

Some people are absolutely stupid. Even my own friends when we went for the wife's 40th. They were all scared of the locals for the most part. I was kind of shocked. They were scared to go into a local market. I just walked there and said hi to the stoned and drunks in front and said what's up brother. Not intending to brag but $1k watch on. Never feared about anything.

How is the drinking water in St. Thomas? And how does one get there? Hotels?

Cruise is the easiest for most. But a few airports have non-stops. Usually though it will be FLL, MIA and SJU (Puerto Rico) layovers. Frontier, Southwest, American, Delta (I think) and United all fly there and others. Silver airways is the small plane from those 3 locations and it's usually about $180-200pp.

Not gonna be cheap if you don't have points. But no passport and extra fees. $11.40 are the fees. Have a point flight to Mexico in 2 weeks, points, but still dropping $110 or so on fees. Then the fare. I wouldn't recommend the cruise route though. Not enough time and you don't get screwed by the tourist traps. A cruise day will cost $100/person but i've gotten it down to $50/person/day, maybe less. Booze, meals and car rental.

As far as the water I only brushed teeth. I drink beer on vacation. Literally all day. It's a messy island, but the municipal water service and sewer from my experience in the states and seeing it there is good and I'd trust it. Most resorts like in Mexico have their own filtration system as well.

I could write a book on this. Margarittaville is our go to cheap option on St. Thomas but is actually really nice (lots of walking). Walk to Coki beach. Good food on Coki with the locals. The resort not so much. Red Hook 5-6min drive has some good restaurants. Day trips to St. John are easy from that spot. If you haven't done a car ferry be prepared. There's passengers ferries, but you're at the mercy of taxis and tour buses then on St. John. I always rent a car. Opposite side of the road, but left side driver seat. Touch weird having been a postal worker. I get totally flipped now when down there.

St. John, which you should go to 100%, the Westin is a great option. Like Mexico, Dominican, Jamaica, Aruba, etc. there a lot of walking at these places. So make sure you're good for 2-3 miles in a day. Don't need to know your age, but if 60+ it can likely be a lot.

This is my plan for a group family trip. https://www.vrbo.com/1815492?dateless=true&x_pwa=1&rfrr=HSR&pwa_ts=1730747191590&referrerUrl=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cudnJiby5jb20vSG90ZWwtU2VhcmNo&useRewards=false&adults=2%C2%AEionId%3D601376&destination=St.+John%2C+U.S.+Virgin+Islands&destType=MARKET&latLong=18.336811%2C-64.728096&amenities_facilities_group=private_pool&bedroom_count_gt=6&privacyTrackingState=CAN_TRACK&productCardViewType=GRID&searchId=5269a0bf-dc6b-46ab-8162-b84f79d31b22&us_bathroom_count_gt=5&sort=RECOMMENDED&gclid=Cj0KCQiA_qG5BhDTARIsAA0UHSK4PvrSikMBZIxJy43CDBuGb4C5Fm7nHWokPxbZ-46uYbHsF0BAtHwaAoInEALw_wcB&semcid=VRBO-US.UB.GOOGLE.DT-c-EN.VR&semdtl=a112250889181.b1121207116950.g1kwd-318083597177.e1c.m1Cj0KCQiA_qG5BhDTARIsAA0UHSK4PvrSikMBZIxJy43CDBuGb4C5Fm7nHWokPxbZ-46uYbHsF0BAtHwaAoInEALw_wcB.r12ed03d80a0231a0f6d6ec22a7e46988ba8b52df53436aaa6091b69439f5a4413.c1e9rSdwFsEaYgPgMOVjVrow.j19021667.k1.d1496316568908.h1e.i1.l1.n1.o1.p1.q1.s1.t1.x1.f1.u1.v1.w1&userIntent=&expediaPropertyId=42704649

Quiet part of St. John, but a restaurant nearby owned by someone from my region. Fun place.
