Mural found in Yazidi temple. I dont know when it was made. But it could as well be any hindu temple in south India.
They pray to a God who rides a peacock. Just like Indian god karthikeya.

In conclusion, Islam is scum! There's nothing about that religion which warrants any respect, unless you're a fan of Saudi Arabia with its backwards monarchy and clerics.
Much of Rumi's ideas are basically a flavor of Buddhism and he's only a "Muslim scholar" due to some geographical issue of being stuck between Afghanistan and Syria, after the Caliphate (& then the Mongolian invasion) era. What was he suppose to tell everyone? ... 'Hey look, Mo's is not the last and only meaningful prophet. There are prophets from all cultures everywhere'. Yeah, that would have gotten him an easy execution.
And I know a number of Turks, Iranians, etc, who've been looking into Buddhism, Shamanism, Zoroastrianism, and Nestorial Christianity because they're sick and tired of Islam which has nothing to offer than some cultish group adherence to clerics with their jihads and notions of divine providence. Seriously, anyone with a 20th century education can tell the difference between medieval barbarian trash and real spirituality.
And BTW, the founder of Bahai is also a Persian fellow but from the 19th century. Guess what those ppl are called? ... Apostates from Islam and yes, they're persecuted in Islamic nations today.

These were originally nomadic tribes who lived along the perimeter of the ancient, pre-Islamic Persian Empire, practicing some aspects of Shamanism a/o Buddhism, prior to the rise of Islam. After Islam rose, power hungry descendants of these backwater barbarians infused the Persian language, court culture, etc, to make themselves appear to be some legitimate civilization.
