This is a biggie for me. Wife travels a work frequently (well used to) and we both love to vacation. A lot of families are lucky to a good 1 week vacation a year, usually road trip or driving destination. Then you save up for a year or two for one where you fly somewhere nice and they're contemplating this shit?

I've already had to get tested for a trip. 2 adults and 3 kids. One it's not pleasant for the kids. Two is just our time. Adults had to get separated separately. All the drive thru location by us wouldn't allow kids to do it. So now we have to go to a pediatrician, who pleasantly enough thought that Covid was bullshit, and poked my kids brains. I don't live in a city. All this running around took 5 hours. Then print out paperwork (not green... lol) and make sure not to forget it. The fill out more paperwork to get there for contact tracing. I've now got a fucking novel of paperwork, sunk time and we haven't even factored in costs of the trip.

All of this in the name of stopping a flu that kills past life expectancy old folks? If the proposals I've heard go into effect, this would easily cut domestic leisure and business travel. All things considered with the "pandemic" domestic travel has still been doing okay numbers after the initial shut downs (stop the spread BS).

Your other points are on point too. This one I comment on pisses me off the most. Got a quick golf trip to Phoenix next Tuesday and spring break down in the panhandle of FL in March. Really hope by May when all the idiots get "vaccinated" we can really start to open back up. Had 3 great trips last year, otherwise it was a dud compared to the previous 5. They pass national testing/vaccination for travel, it's a gateway to a bad place.

Although it would be massively hypocritical to need "paperwork" to travel, but we can't do voter ID (point 7)? Rant over.

We are in a similar boat. Our last year's solution was to vacation in Great State of Tejas...until airlines and other businesses tell politicians to go and fuck themselves i am not leaving Tejas and not giving them my extra earnings.

I hate the mask thing but I've got my work around on the plane and it doesn't cause a problem. I'm not accepting of masks, I just like travel. I guess some airlines are banning anti-maskers. I've got too good a deal going with Southwest to fuck that up.

Everywhere else I'm a thin neck gaiter guy and won't pull it up from my neck until things escalate. Not many places can ban me when I'm on foot. I don't protest or troll obvious small businesses though. They're in a tough spot and it's not their fault. At big box places I just keep walking, pretend I can't hear them. Though I generally don't go to those types of places. Food or retail.

Flying to Phoenix for a quick golf trip with some buddies on Tuesday. IL cold weather doesn't bother me, but I'll usually get out for 5 days or so on my own without the fam and get some warmth. Need the break, especially taking in my nephew. Three kids isn't bad, just different and so it the situation. Touch burned out.

Last year I went to Montana, was going to again, but pulled the plug this year at the last second. I'm 90% after a broken heel, but not quite ready for big mountain snowboarding. I don't go there for the blue or greens, blacks all the way baby.

I hear you with the airlines though. They're huge business, but they're also in a tough spot. They employ a fuck ton of people too when you factor everything into it. I'm biased and indifferent on it. But you've got Boeing and its suppliers, tarmac/ground employees, pilots, flight attendants, mechanics, parking and rental bus drivers, TSA, terminal employees, construction of airports, refineries for Jet fuel, etc. I've probably missed a ton.

Airline restrictions via vaccination or negative covid tests would decimate a huge American industry at many levels further than what's already happened. Because of the flu. After it has been kicked in the nuts losing high revenue long haul international flights. And it fucks up my travel. Joe can fuck Hunter on crack if they fuck up my travel (is that safe Patrick?).

I'm not entirely sure about airline travel. It does seem like everyone is breathing everyone else's air in close quarters for hours, masks or no masks.

But that said, I've flown several times recently and had no problems. Going to fly again on Thursday.

A true virus relief package would consist of trials and executions of Bill Gates, Klaus Schwab, Prince Charles, the Pope, MI6 and CIA, and eradication of the City of London and the Vatican.
