It's hanging around $120 today. Wondering if it'll go parabolic.

Ultimately, it will tank, but when is the question.

I’m going to try to hodl GME until $500 or so.
I’m hoping that a lot of guys buy it to “get rich quick” , “fuck the hedge funds”, and that the hedge funds themselves are squeezed and are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
I’m able to wait it out.
I think it’s going to eventually go below $100 and be above $10 or so.
But Tesla is worth a fortune and I still don’t see them making much $ in a crummy business (cars)
If I were smart and had any balls I would buy some extra AAPL ($123) with my margin and sell it when it’s back at $170.
But I’m a chickenshit mostly.

Before GME was 50-70 bucks I texted my brother “buy GME, now , today.”
He procrastinated. He never bought any.
He had $50,000 sitting in the bank, rotting.
Now he’s checking the price constantly and telling me “tell me the next time you get a good idea!”
He’s got chickenshit remorse big time.
What amazes me is I have no idea where I heard about WSBets and GME but I’m glad I did.
It wasn’t TV, I don’t watch the talking heads.

It's more gambling than investing. Yes he would have made a killing but hindsight is 20/20. There are a ton of bag holders at 300-400.
28   clambo   2021 Mar 9, 7:59am

I recognize it’s gambling but his basis was going to be 50-70 bucks.
Mine is 108.

When I saw Leon Cooperman crying I realized that they had something to their theory about shorts being caught with their pants down.
29   joshuatrio   2021 Mar 9, 1:03pm

Lol, I'm actually up by a few bucks on this thing. Hilarious.

30   clambo   2021 Mar 9, 1:54pm

I think I've found a new hobby.

I have a sell order in for $1000/share. We'll see if it happens.

Be forewarned, I'm going to put one in for $999/share.
32   Patrick   2021 Mar 9, 7:59pm

I'm enjoying watching this latest surge as well. It's good entertainment if nothing else.
33   zzyzzx   2021 Mar 10, 6:19am

$267.13/sh +20.23 (8.19%) Pre-Market: 9:17AM EST
34   clambo   2021 Mar 10, 6:23am

I’m not selling until it’s 500 bucks, maybe a grand ;)

I will ride it down to hell if it goes down, so what.

“In for a penny, in for a pound.”
35   joshuatrio   2021 Mar 10, 6:36am

@Patrick - you bought in around $300/350?

Looks like the train is coming back for ya. lol
36   Patrick   2021 Mar 10, 9:02am

Yup! Lol, I got out with a tiny profit.

I think it may well go higher, but I'm happy to have had the fun and not lost anything.
37   RC2006   2021 Mar 10, 9:33am

tanking is money moving to rblx lol
38   clambo   2021 Mar 10, 10:49am

I just got 5 more using my margin.

39   RC2006   2021 Mar 10, 11:07am

rblx started 20 higher than expected, this market is crazy.
40   clambo   2021 Mar 10, 11:18am

is rblx good?

I'm asking for a friend.
41   RC2006   2021 Mar 10, 11:34am

My kids use to play it and my kids friends with none gaming pcs play it and I've seen enough little kids begging parents to buy robux in checkout line. This is Minecraft 2.0 not to be confused with analogies that some posters make about gold 2.0 ;)
42   joshuatrio   2021 Mar 10, 12:47pm

I know nothing about rblx, other than it's being pumped on the stock forums right now. I'm sticking with GME for the hell of it.

GME was somewhere around $330 today, before being knocked down to $200. It bounced right back up and is climbing again. Unreal.

If I had balls, I'd put a couple hundred k on this.
43   zzyzzx   2021 Mar 12, 7:00am

$278.25/sh +18.25 (+7.02%) As of 9:59AM EST. Market open.
44   clambo   2021 Mar 12, 7:36am

Funny, my brother is always asking me for “stock tips” since I told him about ROKU at the IPO.

So I mentioned RBLX and he bought a couple grand worth of it that day.

I only said it might be interesting but his son has students who use it for games so he went for it.

I’m going to have to find other things to try after I sell my GME shares.

I wouldn't do that. You could easily end up without those balls.

That is, unless you know something, or have some special insight.
46   Rin   2021 Mar 15, 3:46pm

This looks like a classic straddle trade setup, using options.

In other words, there's both price action and volatility so one can buy both a put & call option with reasonable pricing and thus, if it continues its ride up, you make money and if it crashes, you do the same.

Here, it's unlikely that the price will settle in the middle where you lose money paying for the options.
47   Patrick   2021 Mar 15, 3:53pm

Makes sense. But if other people are doing this, maybe the price of those options has been bid up to the point where it's unlikely to be profitable now.

Or maybe there is still profit to be had.
48   clambo   2021 Mar 15, 4:01pm

I had a visit with my childhood friend.
We spent our summers spear fishing, sailing, and scuba diving along with the other misadventures of youth.
He’s got a good job he can do from anywhere using web access.
Owns a house in New England for summers and just got one in Florida.
But, he’s paying $4,000/month rent in Boston and who knows what in Massachusetts income tax.
Why? His wife and daughter want to be near each other to care for the grandchild.
I estimated he pays $75,000/year so his wife can be a babysitter.

This has nothing to do with GME; but if I lose money on my gamble, at least I can think of a guy losing much more, and his loss is avoidable with no possible upside.
49   EBGuy   2021 Mar 25, 3:25pm

I panicked yesterday and sold my three shares. This is what happens when you don't HODL -- an upgrade!
50   clambo   2021 Mar 25, 5:26pm

I don’t know the future.
But if GME was once $400/share I’m gonna hodl until it’s 400 again.
I might be waiting longer than my lifespan however.
51   joshuatrio   2021 May 25, 2:09pm

Broke $200 today. We seeing the second squeeze in the next few days/weeks????
52   clambo   2021 May 25, 2:45pm

Yeah baby.
53   EBGuy   2021 May 25, 5:14pm

AMC closes above $16. Fasten your safety belts...
54   EBGuy   2021 May 27, 5:53pm

AMC closes at $26.5. Did not HODL. May have to join the shorts at some point.
55   joshuatrio   2021 May 27, 6:21pm

GME @ 254.

If I had bigger balls I could have made a killing on this.

Instead I put $30k on petroleum stocks. Up $20k in about a month.
56   clambo   2021 May 27, 6:26pm

I only have 30 GME and I wish I had rolled the dice bigly, but I guess I’m just too cautious.
I activated margin at Vanguard and I could have gambled a lotta dough on it.

Maybe someday there will be something else that is so interesting.
57   Dholliday126   2021 May 27, 6:26pm

Institutional doesn't like to go into a long weekend worring about their shorts, so they they go neutral, so the garbage might take off. If so, plan on Tuesday is to buy an atm put expiring friday on the dog shit names.
58   Booger   2021 May 27, 6:35pm

Everything is going nuts now. Even some genuinely shitty stocks are overpriced now too.
59   Patrick   2021 May 27, 7:47pm

I think it might be increased expectations of inflation driving the stock market up.

Agree. Roaring 20's??

I agree with this as well.
61   clambo   2021 May 28, 6:09am

The stock market is an attractive alternative to bonds, so stocks continue to rise.
This is because interest rates are not that high.

There are guys around the world who have “new money” coming in every month. They're rich.

They decide what they want to buy: 1. Bonds 2. Stocks
Lately they’re buying stocks.

Of course there are bullshit non profitable companies that rise too, sometimes index funds and ETFs own the crap too.
