My mom is a covid Nazi. We're totally good, but I'm shocked at how stubborn she is about listening to reality. A lot of people have shocked me really that I thought were critical thinkers.

The data is out there. Masks haven't and don't work. That's the easy one. Vaccines don't work as we've just had a spike with supposedly 50-60% of the population vaccinated. How the hell does that happen if what you're preaching works? This isn't complicated. It's a mundane virus for the vast majority. Let it spread and protect the elderly if they so choose.

I try not to get into it too much. She's actually respectable in conversing about it, but she likely is a vax mandate person. She's almost 70. She's a huge mask person and will and does bitch publicly about people not wearing them. She's gotten the jab(s). I legit just tell her I don't fucking care, which is the truth and she knows it, so we don't fight on the topic.

As much as I love my mom, she is a simpleton. Not dumb as she was a teacher and got her masters. Book smarts isn't street smarts though. I'm honestly shocked how people will just blindly follow something. I'm an elected official. I attend other board meetings. I see the personalities. The federal government and state government are just bloated versions of that.

Nobody pays attention in most places or knows what it going on. Sure people listen to the news, but do you know your Congress critter? Likely no. You need $$$$ to get access. I've met my House Rep once. I'll never get close to Durbin or Tammy Fuckworth (senators). 80% of people have no care in the world to even meet or talk to these people that have the ability to make pretty big decisions regarding your life and even body.

Comments like this and others are my daily notification to take my vitamins. I haven't had blood work, but take 2-4k ICU daily of D3. Plus I'm outside a lot in summer at least.

I've started working out more again the last 2 months and that's been feeling great. Need to work on the sleep. Melatonin doesn't work for me and I'm not taking big pharma pills. Ashwa has helped with stress and anxiety, but it didn't help the sleep. I'm close to just popping an edible at 8:30-9pm as the kids go to bed since it's legal here. Kicks in around 10pm and crash. Sleep is crucial to health and I'm getting 3-4 hours a night at best. I just mention this because we're all going to get Covid at some point. We need to be healthier. The vaccine doesn't work.

I wish it knocked me out. Been awake since 3am central time going to bed at 10pm, which is decent for me. Maybe I'll try it again soon. I don't get hangovers except on a really bad party night. Maybe once or twice a year if that. I actually wouldn't mind a hangover feeling if I got 6-8 hours of sleep to be honest. Most nights it's just 3-4 hours. Sometimes sneak a nap. As I think I've mentioned, I'm at the mercy of the wife waking up at 4:30am to go work out so that doesn't help.

Anxiety is my issue, but I don't want to take big pharma pills. Love travel, not afraid of flying, but we leave Thursday morning for FL with 3 kids. I don't wear masks here, so that literally woke me up this morning with the thought of having to wear one for 3-4 hours and being around a lot of idiots in an airport. Tall guy, small plane seats and then you mask me. F that noise. No booze either on Southwest still, but they'll give you water..... Not that I need it, does help to relax me though having 2 beers on a 2 hour flight. Nothing extreme as far as drinking and it allows me to remove my mask. Once in FL all bets are off on drinking though, lol.

The covid products/vaccines are a gold mine for pharma/biotech. I see those margins......it wont stop....way to profitable. This will be dragged out as long as possible.

Under UV exposure the body produces something on the order of 100,000 IU of D. It is practically impossible to overdose on D3 unless you're taking about 50,000 IU daily, and even then, the overdose effects are not immediately life-threatening, unlike too much iron or selenium.

Somewhere between 20,000 and 50,000 is the optimum in the cold of winter. Just keep ramping it up until you see side effects, then drop down to a lower dose where symptoms don't manifest.

D3 is fat soluble, which means that all that summer sun has stockpiled in your body fat. This is another reason why excess D3 isn't harmful - it's stored in your fat, as opposed to circulating in your bloodstream and damaging your liver and kidneys.
