I've known many waitresses who deliberately put off any "higher" education because they made $200k+ during the good years easily

Complete and utter bullshit.
You're not paid minimum wage.
Look, if you cannot afford the tip, you can't afford to go out to eat.
Patrick to a few glasses of wine for providing excellent SERVICE for his website.
I've worked plenty of minimum or close to minimum wage jobs in my younger years, never expected any tips, esp. if I didn't render any services beyond what was agreed upon in the initial (low)-wage contract.

I've been lucky. Never had to work retail or food service. My first job was sweeping floors and cleaning toilets at the local bowling alley. Got paid a sandwich and a couple of bucks in quarters under the table so I could play pinball and pool when I was done.
The owner of this little 8 alley place noticed I had a mechanical aptitude so he taught me how to fix and maintain the pinsetters. That led to many other mechanical jobs including working on nuclear submarines for the DoD before I became a smuggler to put myself through college.
Never earned tips.

I've already addressed this incorrect "belief" in a response to you - you simply ignored that you are demonstrably wrong:

Yuck, sweeping floors and cleaning toilets.....i wouldnt call this lucky onvacation.
I worked hard during college too.....I worked for Daimler Benz in Untertuerkheim (night shift and weekends).....that was big money and tax free as a student in germany.

HERE! HERE! (or is it HEAR! HEAR! perhaps HEAR HERE?) anyway @patrick should add a tip jar so we can buy him a beer.
Excellent service should be rewarded!
While we're at it - what's with all the restaurants and their apps setting the minimum tippable percentage to 20%, 25% and 30% (few have 18% as minimum),

Another reason not to use apps.

Well shucks, I appreciate the compliment.
The site is really a labor of love. I do it because I think people really need a place separate from the tech tyrants where they can speak.
After I retire on Friday, I'll have a lot more time to fix bugs, and meet up for a drink somewhere.
These aren't normal times and people working at sit down restaurants are broke
Are you going to the SF office Friday for the last day?
mell saysAre you going to the SF office Friday for the last day?
I actually don't know yet how that will work.

You seem to know a lot about the financial situation of servers. Are you a waiter?
WookieMan saysOr you can use cash.
That's what I do. I don't trust servers with a CC.
They can't do anything with it
Annually just eating there 20 times will pay for 2 round trip flights.
WookieMan saysAnnually just eating there 20 times will pay for 2 round trip flights.
What's the math on that?
WookieMan saysAnnually just eating there 20 times will pay for 2 round trip flights.
What's the math on that? Eating at that restaurant 20 times is what total dollar amount? What are the 2 round trips worth and to where will those 2 round trip tickets take you?
If someone tells me that waiters are broke, knows so much about the business and gets offended when you say you dont want to tip if there is no service or really bad service, then it makes me think that person might be a waiter and doesnt want to admit it.
More good news about the jabs:
She says FDA acknowledges that the formal reports cover no more than ten percent of actual complications and events. So, anything that is reported, multiply it by a factor of ten to get a minimum real world number of complications and adverse reactions.

All in all, she sounds pretty credible, seems well read, and if she's right, we're only beginning to experience problems. Covid is nothing compared to what's coming.

I'm for most vaccines. And there is some evidence existing ones have issues. I still didn't hesitate to vaccinate my kids though. They are of value.
This one(s) is just too god damn new. For something that won't kill my kids or someone my age in even fair health, I'm taking a hard pass for 5 years. I don't take the flu vax anyway and I've gotten the flu. You're down for 2-3 days max. It sucks, but in hindsight it's nothing. And other flu strains kill people to this day WITH vaccines that are FDA approved.

We've always been selective vaxxers. Look at the vax risk and if it's really needed. My kids are mostly vaxxed and we did a delayed vax schedule due to potential autism risk and to space out the numerous injections as to go easier on the body. I do agree that traditional vaccines can provide value with little risk.
With kids, a beer and a cocktail we're at about $120 w/ tip at restaurants. 4 x 120 = 480pts. Eating out every other week at that place is about 12,480pts annually.
2k points annually? Thats cute.
No wonder you said before you cant move to SoCal.
$120 at a sit down restaurant doesnt get me far with my wife alone
WookieMan saysWookieMan saysThey can't do anything with it
I should clarify. Besides swiping it in the restaurant itself. If they try to use the number and CCV on the back online, it almost always needs a zip and matching address. They wouldn't know that.
Yes, not like they could Google it

Who gives a fuck? All my CCs are zero liability. All I need to do is to report transactions as fraudulent and they magically go away.

I know a few and they sound like absolute shit, and both feel like absolute crap.
Anyone else?
Why the fuck are people injecting themselves with a non-FDA approved biological agent?
And what the fuck are people afraid of, when this covid has a 99.97% survival rate?
I don't understand this level of retardedness... Or maybe I am just super, over the top, fucking retarded, that I can't understand this shit.
