Step 1) "The red pill" - the realization that you are living in a false reality created by constant propaganda, spin, and irrelevant talking points.

Step 2) Being gaslit - being asked to doubt your own perceptions. Here you find out it's impossible to discuss this with almost all friends or family, since they still believe Stephen Colbert has principles, or that Sean Hannity ever gave a damn about telling the truth.

Step 3) Finding out that not all your friends and family having taken "the blue pill" and they cautiously bring up taboo subjects and point out things you've not noticed before like "yeah, I know Trump is a reality television star, but can he be WORSE than Hillary Clinton?"

Step 4) Developing a cogent outlook on the world and realizing it is logical, if you ignore the propaganda. Why do the parties differ only on gay marriage, flag burning, transgendered bathrooms, school prayer - because they don't give a damned about those issues. Why do they care about going to war in Iraq, Syria, Libya, etc - because they do care about those issues.

Step 5) Understanding hypocrisy such as hearing Rachael Maddow cry over separated families at the border, but forgot about the issue once Biden was installed although nothing changed. Realizing that people who complained endlessly about the supposed mental incompetence of Trump, but say nothing about a befuddled senile old man that announced he was running for the senate when he was running for president, who forgot Barack Obama's name, and is reading teleprompters and notes to answer "reporters" "questions".

Step 6) Seeing the hypocrisy everywhere. June 6th was a insurrection, but BLM and Antifa destroying cities for the last 9 months were just "mostly peaceful protests". "White racists" being identified as a "serious threat to the republic" by our "intelligence" agencies. Having an election stolen by Biden amid a completely overhauled election amid video evidence of shenanigans (ballot boxes being pulled from under tables, poll watchers refused entry, windows covered up during the count, sudden surges in the counts over night, after counting supposedly stopped) and being told that's impossible that there were any irregularities, after 4 years of being told "Russia hacked our election". Meeting people who are sincere about these points of view.

Step 7) "The black pill" - being upset that some people who you once thought were intelligent, moral, ethical people are just pawns of propaganda, and they cannot be helped. At this point you realize that you don't get angry in a discussion with somebody about a taboo subject, but they do and they replace reasoning with shouting. At this point, it's almost impossible to be gaslit, but you start to feel you're talking to automatons rather than people. You lose respect for other people's opinions understanding they are just repeating what they've been brainwashed into - they aren't their opinions.

Step 8) Accepting this is the way it is.

Step 9) "The white pill" - Laughing about it all. I can't get angry with somebody that actually believes that "white supremacists" are everywhere, that "liberals" think that a man that voted for the Iraq War and has actually supported every war in the last 5 decades is somehow an improvement over George W. Bush, or that a man that couldn't get 50 people to show up to a campaign event is the most popular presidential candidate in all of US history. I can't even get upset, I can't even think they are stupid. I can only think "wow, propaganda DOES work". Just have to laugh at it.

I am kind of curious about the 'purple pill' i.e. half blue half red that some of the Dems seem to be taking because their party has been hijacked. There hasn't been much evidence of break through, yet, except for those 'driven to the middle' on alternative medias. Problem is, with fake elections, it is hard to tell how many of them there are.

Maybe the purple pill is a precursor to awareness or maybe it's just another trap. Maybe it's just "being a moderate" which in the last 20 years is just accepting whatever BOTH parties agree upon. If that's the pill, that's the worst shit to swallow.

What the "two" parties agree upon doing is the WORST things.

You know what George W. Bush, John Kerry, Barack Obama, John McCain, Mitt Romney, Hillary Clinton, and Joe Biden ALL agreed upon? Endless war is great, and we need more war.

Hard to laugh about being economically fucked, while they use cancel culture to stop any criticism.

I've known something was wrong for over 20 years, and I was ENDLESSLY frustrated by people's seeming apathy about it. I have to admit, I am gloating a bit.

After 9/11 and the Patriot Act - I wrote openly about how the Patriot Act would be used against US citizens. That ANYTHING the US government does abroad is eventually turned on its citizens in time. When our "news" media ALL got on board with "Hussein has a secret weapons of mass destruction program and we can't wait for the final proof to come in the form of a mushroom cloud" I smelled propaganda but if I tried to talk about it, I was called paranoid, stupid, crazy. If I didn't ABSOLUTELY support the intelligence agencies in 2005, I was called a traitor, a thug - if I pointed out that the US had done awful things, and we MUST reform the government and prevent them from doing that again, I was blaming America first.

I have decent memory. The "conservatives" back in 2004 were NOT kind to people like me, now I'm on the other "side" (I guess?) because the conservatives have gotten a lot better because a lot of people have abandoned the left. We're improving your part getting rid of people like Liz Cheney, Mitt Romney, George W. Bush, John McCain, Nikki Haley (she's a target), and Jeb Bush.

I never thought the RIGHT would be the first to try to clean house, and kudos to Trump - he's done all the heavy lifting. We had hope with Ron Paul, but false hope.

Just as the left had hope with Mike Gravel, Bernie Sanders, Tulsi Gabbard. The worse they treat these people the more that will come.

Richwicks man I don’t think there are conservatives or liberals. Our government simply morphs propaganda as it needs for its ends. I was super anti Republican during Iraq war too. The lies were obvious. It’s sane shot today “from the left” just on social issues like fucking tranny absurdity and gay shit, while pushing Russia collusion 24/7.

Yes, but the far bigger issue they agree on is the annual half trillion in Chinese imports. Both parties agree that those imports must continue no matter what harm it does to US manufacturing or how much it makes us dependent on China. It's just too profitable for our owners for there to be any serious debate or even discussion of it.

That's really what got Trump into trouble, imho.

I think there USED to be. It disappeared in the maybe, early 2000's? Look, even Richard Dawkins is being de-platformed from the current "left", HE doesn't recognize it anymore.

Good for you! You have at least one good principle in my opinion and probably many more. But that's certainly one.

The left are just like the "conservatives" who WERE screaming that we're all going to be killed by Saddam Hussein, and we have to fight them over there or we'll have to fight them here.

I think the division is between "sane people" and "propagandized people". Both "sides" of the government lies. The struggle is to get people to "wake up" and realize they've been tricked. Once you're awake, you don't go back to sleep in zombie mode.

The reason, I'm CERTAIN, that we have censorship and they're doubling down on propaganda, and being more frantic and divisive about the propaganda is because people are awake - finally. Once you see what is going on, you can't unsee it. Censorship is a mark of desperation, and if censorship doesn't work, they're moving to force certainly. That will get MORE people to wake up. It will get worse before it gets better, but I'll be damned if I'm not going to work until my death to make this better. Fuck this system.

We do not have to be (and must not be) violent - we have to educate and get as many people on board, NO re-education camps, just get people to see what is going on. At the end, if we don't fail, we just help the propagandized, don't belittle them, don't hurt them, explain to them. There's nothing complicated about the situation, but everybody is subject to propaganda, and it's uncomfortable to realize you've been tricked not a little bit, but for DECADES and if we can't convince them, if we can't show them how they've been deceived - oh well. They are largely harmless. Price of being in a free society.

Above all, we must lead by example even if that gets us killed. We are a strong, dynamic, innovative, scrappy people. I believe in the foundations of this country, strongly and if somebody wants to be a communist or a fascist - I'll put up with it. If somebody wants to be a racist, a religious zealot, a propagandist - I'll put up with it. We brought in the best people of the planet in the first 1/2 of the 20th century. There are smart, moral, ethical people - not perfect by any means, but not human walking talking garbage either.

The problem is we have a very tilted playing field, and I'm fine with that, because there's more on our side than their side. We'll still win. Have some faith in allowing people to be creative. Solutions are created, provided they are ALLOWED to be created. If you give up the ability to freely innovate, THEN you're fucked. We can never give that up.

I took green pills; I have enough "green" that I don't give a fuck and say generally whatever I feel like.

I do temper comments to police however.

I accepted that most people tend to believe nonsense but we have common ground on some subjects.

This.
I have found that the Indoctrinated People get extremely agitated when you question their received narratives even slightly, whichever side they think they are on. I receive information from the same sources and my thought is "Hmmm. I wonder why they are lying about this today?"
