Sikhism is a religion, and the Sikhs are very good at self-defense. Those things are true.

You can call it a cult, but it does not seem to try to cut off all contact between those in the religion and those outside, as true cults do.

I admire the Sikhs, no problem with them at all. You can join, you can leave, and no one will try to kill you for it.

I don't care. Why is this continually a topic? This is getting into Bitcoin territory similar to a couple months back. Everything is literally made up by man yet we continuously argue about it. It never existed before we had words for it. Crypto, religion, government is all made up. Religion is not real. No one has actual verifiable proof there are any Gods. Get over it. I consider any religion younger than 2000 years ago, a cult. As by then all cultures, pretty much had the Religion thing, and God figured out. I believe all of those cultures were worshiping the same God, they just perceived him differently. The religions that came along after, were made by people trying to capture the religion lightening in a bottle, for self serving reasons. Mostly used to war and impose their views on the classic cultural religion of their ancestral lands.

That goes for the Utah Mormon, and Seven Day occultists as well, all of them are full of shit! Don't get me started on the Jehovah Witless idiots!

Yes, that was one reason, but there were a lot of reasons for the emergence of Protestantism.

The Catholic Church got extremely corrupt, selling "indulgences" for example. So you could pay the church, and then commit some sin, and would be pre-emptively forgiven!

There's a lovely story of some guy asking a Catholic monk selling indulgences if he could pay to be forgiven for beating and robbing someone. The monk said "Of course" and named a price. The guy paid, and then beat the shit out of the monk and took his money back.

And it was the Puritan Protestants that came to America, they shunned Catholics for a couple Centuries. My Dad used to talk about what a big deal Kennedy being the first Catholic President. To the American Baptist, Methodist, and Protestant evangelicals it was almost the same as if a Jew got elected. I always found that odd, considering they all had their roots from Catholicism. I think it had more to do with cutting ties with the Catholic church, so they could keep the money the congregation raised. Although my Dad was a devout ashiest. He didn't take kindly to imported religions encroaching on American Christianity.

I simply don't care about religion. Generally in my lifetime and even in history it has been a negative. All of them. They're all cults. It's all made up to extract money from you and make you feelz good under a false pretext. It's a social club with tax benefits for those in charge telling you you'll die and have this miserable afterlife (doesn't exist) and you need to pay them to get to the good place (doesn't exist). It's business.

If you've ever been put under, that's death. Except you don't wake up. Religion isn't gonna stop that.

You'd get bored if I spout E. European stereotypes in 100 threads. Summary is as follows: Germans bad, oppressed/invaded us for last 800 years, Russians worse, uncultured, rude, stupid, still want to invade/oppress us, everything bad in our country including my neighbor being an alcoholic and hitting his wife is due to Russians/Germans.
