Post-vaccination herd immunity in Iceland must be achieved by virus transmission – Epidemiologist
Iceland is one of the most vaccinated countries in the world, with 71.3% fully immunized people. The country has also managed to simultaneously boost its economy and have one of the lowest death rates in the world.

By The Rio Times -August 8, 2021
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Thorolfur Guðnason, Iceland's epidemiologist, believes that the country must now try to achieve herd immunity to the coronavirus by letting it continue, but try to prevent severe disease by protecting vulnerable groups.

He said the goal at this point could not be to eradicate the virus from the community.

A record number of infected people have been diagnosed in recent weeks, even though most of the population has been vaccinated.

I think he's right.

It's actually not a dangerous disease unless you're obese or already older than US life expectancy.

Pretty much what the early authorities said in Spring of 2020. Everything else has been political weaponization.

You know, this makes me wonder whether they instituted a vaxx mandate at the BBC and top reporters were having none of it.

Another good point just brought up in a British paper I linked to somewhere:

*Half* of the coof deaths are in nursing homes.

So everything they tell you, if if it were true, you can safely cut in half.

Officially, the IFR (Infection Fatality Rate) is 0.3% but for people outside nursing homes, it must be 0.15%, which pretty damn close to the seasonal flu's 0.1%

And if you're not obese, cut it in half again, or even more.

I found age specific IFR here:
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33289900/
The estimated age-specific IFR is very low for children and younger adults (e.g., 0.002% at age 10 and 0.01% at age 25) but increases progressively to 0.4% at age 55, 1.4% at age 65, 4.6% at age 75, and 15% at age 85.

and here:

(oddly, the 2nd chart/image on this page showed new york city had a much higher IFR than pretty much everywhere. Me thinks the NY leftists there are fudging numbers.

I still want to see comorbidity-adjusted data by age group.
