Not sure if this is true or not, but if it is the best solution is for as many people as possible to simply not respond to the app. Force them to send cops out to your place to check on you.

"Oh, gee, I was asleep, didn't hear the alert. Oh well."

Drive the system right into the bog, forcing them to waste as many resources as possible. Bonus if some banks get robbed as a result of all the cops wasting time with this covid tyranny.

The Australian federal government is planning to de-anonymize the internet to introduce a social credit system to combat "online abuse" - police will have access to individuals' social media accounts, which will be linked to people's passports.

Will then then make it illegal for people to communicate with each other anonymously online? They might.

Oh no! Maybe they'll make downloading movies illegal too. THAT will end it!!

You're about my age Patrick, you know as well as I do that making the Internet was a giant "fuck you" to the establishment. It took 30 fucking years for them to get the message, but here we are, finally.

Now they have to steal elections instead of just having two clones running against one another, now they have to have obvious and blatant propaganda, now they need censorship and hide behind terms of service violations. None of this is a sign of strength, it's all weakness.

If this was 1990 and there was a "pandemic" I think the population would have been FAR more compliant than they are now. They had the same control over the mainstream media back then. I think this pandemic is an attempt to retain control, and a result of them losing control.
12   Patrick   2021 Sep 4, 5:05pm

Well, maybe it will become illegal to use any part of the internet not approved by oligarchs.

So there will be no independent servers anymore.
13   AmericanKulak   2021 Sep 4, 5:10pm

Yeah, it's over.

The Internet stretched the Overton Window and this is a final desperate attempt to get it back to manageable levels.
14   Patrick   2021 Sep 4, 5:12pm

They may succeed at it.

Man, you have such little faith!

The internet is a point to point system. At this current time, we can create mesh networks if we need to and run data from one location to another entirely encrypted.

There's DOZENS of encryption libraries that can be compounded upon one another. Literally toys have more computational power than our best machines did back just 25 years ago and those were more than sufficient for 1000's of people to communicate and talk.

They won't succeed.

UDP RFC's were ended several years ago, this means that the protocol is unrestricted. We can build anything we want to on top of that simpler, easier to work with, protocol and it's built into every single TCP/IP stack there is and even if it isn't, it's child's play to write one. I've written a UDP stack before.

What you are seeing with this censorship, deplatforming, calls to end the 1st amendment - is panic. They are NOT in control, and this is their reaction. What keeps them in power is the illusion of their legitimacy. We'll end that too.

Oh, and this pathetic attempt of deplatforming people by controlling ICANN. ICANN will simply be bypassed.

Here's my toxid again: 2779E73EE1BE4E85A52DDA1E0E0DE8006905250171725CD64BE0ED1C29DACC4C03491A64CDA5

That number is an ECC public key, except for that last 12 digits. That is a GUID. It identifies me uniquely. You can think of that is an IP address if you like. Not only does that give you a method to identify and send data to me, it also defines the encryption - there's no need for 3rd party trust. You can't send data to me without knowing my public ECC encryption key. No need for certificates, no need for 3rd parties. In order for a 3rd party to intercept of modify communication, they would have to break the code. If they're able to do it, I just need 2 ECC keys, or 3 or 10 or 100. The key is only used for contact and establishing a symmetric key, doesn't matter if if takes you a minute to connect, we can make it absolutely impossible for eavesdropping.

Can the Chinese set up independent servers and communicate what they want with each other?

Yes, but at risk to themselves.

We'll face that too, perhaps. I've got about 30 years left of life. Fuck it.

You want to leave this world in the hands of a bunch of despot fucks, that have spent 1/2 our lives fucking over this country, promoting LBGTQPZ bullshit? Leave it to a bunch of SOCIOPATHS that want to tag the entire country like cattle, know everything we buy, everything we do. It's not going to effect US for much longer, but what about the earlier generations? You going to let them be fed to the wolves?

China is getting BETTER not worse - for the typical citizen. We're getting worse, not better. It's an entirely different situation, isn't it?

Who does that? Who communicates anonymously over the Internet?
I know you. You know me. We know others in this group. We know there're trolls in this group. We all know that any communications you pass over the Internet can easily be intercepted.

I imagine there is a database out there with all the info on all the "anonymous" users of chat boards.

It is still possible to send encrypted messages or even hide data in high resolution pictures, but who does that?

I do.

Perhaps you don't realize just how much the net is used today. Cable companies and film theaters do digital distribution through it. Your phone calls go through it.

If the Internet went down nothing would work. Not credit cards, not radio. Most of television would be down.
20   AmericanKulak   2021 Sep 4, 8:36pm

They also have databases of people's writing style.

Why I even think that they know who likes to use the word even, even.

Those bits will have licenses to operate.

Peon citizens will not.

AF’s writing style is the stuff of legend. I wonder if they keep it in a special database?

So for the “typical citizen” who doesn’t question the narrative or say anything negative about the great leader, doesn’t practice Christianity, doesn’t practice Islam, and in other words is not free to think for themselves, promote greater liberty or change in government or worship God in the manner of their own choosing but yet their life is getting better? Who cares if they have more wealth or other trivial things or even better health care if they don’t have the liberty to set up their own servers, set up their own religion or change their government they are simply well behaved slaves.

Only if we abandon our rights.

I've noticed people can be convinced to give up nearly any right, other than the 1st amendment.

Remember back in the mid 1990's they tried to pass the Communications Decency Act (CDA) - and before they introduced their intention to do this, USENet was filled with pornography and smut everywhere for a few months? There was alt.sex.* for that, but they were placing it in alt.knitting.* and so on. When people complained they'd scream it's their first amendment right to post whatever they pleased. People go to work, and started tracing their IP addresses - they went back to government and military domains. When the CDA failed to pass, the smut magically disappeared.

They failed then, they fail again. If we have to, we'll start posting messages though pictures, and embedded in sound files. They ONLY way they can stop us, if by taking away our ability to post at all.

I've pointed out, the last group of people you want to piss off, are nerds. Julian Assange is a nerd. He paid a heavy price for what he did, but he's not the only one that does this sort of thing, he's just high profile.

People who complain about the tone and tenor and "misleading" or "hateful" posts on the internet, clearly never spent a moment on 90s Newsgroups.

This is a bit of an irony. People who promote the agenda are allowed to say anything, and be as unhinged as they want to be. People who oppose the agenda are restricted to explaining to the other side why they are wrong in reasoned arguments now. I can't simply call some freak advocating LGBTQ+ crap in elementary class a freak, I have to explain why they are a freak.

So I see two possibilities

1) The "conservative" agenda is actually being promoted by allowing the "liberal" agenda to go off the rails. Feed them more rope.

2) They fucked up, and have inadvertently created a powerful group who, since they've been restricted to only reasoning for years, now can explain their position only through logic and are quite adept at it.

It's said the "left can't meme" - that was NOT always the case. Some of the best meme's of the naughts were from the liberals.

The reality is that the establishment can't meme. When the Republicans are doing something fucked up and stupid, it's easy to make fun of them. Same is true when the Democrats are doing something fucked up and stupid.
28   AmericanKulak   2021 Sep 4, 10:44pm

To me, the funniest thing is when they put out lists of factchecking orgs they use:

Progressives of America
Scientists United for Health and Plant-based Diets
Brotherhood of Longshoremen
Some Half-Kenyan Half-Ukrainian Chick who worked with Pro-EU Groups
One World United Foundation for Open Borders

And finally, some RINO group like "Small Businesses for Undocumented Immigrants and no Import Tariffs"

The real problem with the Internet is that Analog Provider "Regulations" (in the sense they were banned from banning customers, like the Phone/Electric Utility) weren't modernized to Digital ("Private Company!!! Now bake the cake, bigot!!!)"

AT&T, ConEd, etc. could not refuse anybody. Hell, the USPS could not refuse somebody suspected of actively defrauding people in the mail, and even had to send/receive letters for them if they were serving time in prison after a conviction for doing just that.

We need to have Twitter, Spectrum, Gmail, etc. under the same kind of "Regulation".

That kind of Regulation also immunizes them from lawsuits for providing those services, for example you can't sue Canon or Okidata because somebody printed fraudulent materials to get Old Folks to give up their SSN to a scammer in the mail and Canon continued to sell them paper and ink and repair services.

The fact that Google, Facebook, etc. don't want that lovely immunity that allows them to gain/keep unlimited customers while being spared the time/expense of watching their own customers tells you why they really exist, and it's not to make money.

NO!!!! Good lord, can't you see the trap they are setting?

They WANT to have regulation, to prevent competition.

Who gives a shit about GMail - you have dozens of alternatives. Does anybody other than celebrity twats use Twitter? What's Spectrum? Isn't that a cable company - they can't restrict what you connect to even if they want to.

No regulation. Competition will fix it.

Sick of Youtube bullshit? Get on Rumble. Want Facebook? Why would ANYBODY use a website that is controlled by a thief and fucking scumbag? Use Gab instead.

It's not some year long, 100 million dollar venture today to build another Google, or Facebook, or Youtube. There's PLENTY of sites that already replace them. Nobody ever used Twitter - it was a failing company that was ignored until Trump used it, and now that he's gone, it's just ignored. It's about as relevant as Yahoo! is.
