Next week they're having OSHA create the rules.

You won't hear that about MAGA, though.

That indicates "Left/Liberals" do understand certain languages. Its just 'MAGA' is not up to that level to make them understand.

I suspect the Democrats are rapidly losing the black vote.
86   Hircus   2021 Sep 11, 1:28pm

My employer is trying to force the jab on me, by insisting I stop working remote, and insisting only the jab'd may come on site.

Fuck them.

This is why I save and live a frugal life - so I don't need to bend he knee to some asshole boss or company out of desperation, like many of my coworkers will when they capitulate and get the jab they so very much despise.

My only debate now is do I resign, or do I let them fire me? I've worked for them for a while, and would prefer to not have a black mark on my employment record in case future employers check if I was fired or not (or, I suppose they would just call and ask that question "would Hircus be rehirable or not?" )

I suspect there may be a chance that others like me win a class action lawsuit in the future, but if I quit that might exclude me from any of the spoils.

I'd love to insta-quit on their ass without training a replacement, and let them figure out how to maintain the systems I built which they depend on, but a stunt like that would probably follow me around, even though I feel they deserve it for pulling this stunt on me.

Are you in CA? If you are it's illegal for them to say anything except confirm the fact and dates of your employment with them. Can't say you were fired, can't say you were an asshole, can't even say how much they paid you.

I'd talk to a labor lawyer to be 100% clear on the issue.

Yes, CA. I thought they could ask if an employee is rehirable? At least, 20yrs ago they could ask that. Not sure about now.

@Hircus

Let them fire you. That way:

1. You're eligible for unemployment.
2. Their unemployment insurance cost goes up.
3. You can sue for wrongful termination later.

I think you should be open about why you got fired. A new employer that demands the jab is not going to hire you anyway, and one that is more liberal (in the true sense of liberal) will understand and perhaps be even more likely to hire you.

This may seem desirable, but it's best to line up a new job and let them fire you, you could be able to an enormous amount of compensation. Look for a lawyer to bring a lawsuit, and document each step, record all emails and convos and keep the documentation. If you quit yourself you give up all rights to compensation unless you can prove you were coerced into quitting.

Ya, there's lots of benefits to letting them fire me. I may take this opportunity to take a yr or so off work, and jab requirements might be a thing of the past by the time I come back to working. Maybe.

There will be many companies significantly hurting from this, maybe even go under, but for those struggling and needing a excuse to fire this tyrannical mandate is of course a despotic lifeline.

Good point. I will start documenting future communications. So far I had a conversation w/ my manager where I expressed my displeasure and said I need to think about things for a while before making a decision (I'm just stalling, as I have zero plan to get the jab), but it was via phone.

I know having an employment gap has a lot of drawbacks, but I'm a bit burnt out, and kinda want to take some time off work, and this is my opportunity.

Can't ask shit anymore. Literally only two things are permissible: "did Hircus work for you at ABC capacity and what were the dates he started and finished his employment with you".

Sounds like a good law. I also like the law about non-competes. Evidently non-competes are almost 100% unlawful.

The tone in which you say it means a lot, more than what you say. And the not saying says something, unless they're also forbidden saying things like, "Hircus was an outstanding and conscientious employee. We were sad to see him go."

That sounds a lot better than a sassy Karen HR drone telling the HR clone that called her in a sassy voice, "All I can say is Hircus 'worked' for us from March 13, 2000 through September 27, 2001".

I'm not a lawyer, I just play one on the Internet.

Sharing company secrets with a competitor is grounds for lawsuit, but they couldn't successfully sue you just for finding another job as a tech, programmer, analyst or mechanic; especially if they fired you.
107   Onvacation   2021 Sep 11, 5:10pm

But there are a lot of hungry lawyers out there.
108   GNL   2021 Sep 11, 5:31pm

@Onvacation,

Well, that was clear as mud.
109   Patrick   2021 Sep 11, 5:33pm

I have to agree, I don't quite get what you're saying.

Maybe that one should not share company secrets with a competitor (that does sound illegal) but that there are many lawyers looking for a way to sue employers for murdering their employees with this jab requirement.
110   Onvacation   2021 Sep 11, 5:40pm

Lawyers will sue for anything if you pay them.

This is what I was saying:
they couldn't successfully sue you just for finding another job as a tech, programmer, analyst or mechanic; especially if they fired you.

I did put a lot of modifiers in there, but I'm not a lawyer, I just play one on the Internet.

I'm just saying legal departments have better things to do than trying to enforce a non compete clause on an employee that they fired.
111   Onvacation   2021 Sep 11, 5:41pm

And probably wouldn't succeed in a court of law if they tried.

Not gonna happen. More pessimistic on this than on throwing out xidens mandate in the scouts. The fix is in they would never allow this egregiously biased polls surface if they hadn't put tue fix in. The mandate has a 60% chance of being thrown put IMO, but maybe osha will craft a laxer rule anyways. Elders chances are like 10%
