Remember when this winter started with good rains in.the west all these articles by climate "scientists" and globahomo agitprop "news" corporations about how this will be a dry winter for the drought stricken west despite initial rains. Fuck you moron sell-outs, this will go down as one of the wettest winters in recent history in the west. Reservoirs should be full to the brim but I'm sure politicians made sure there is enough drainage and poor planning so they can keep promoting state of emergencies and fuck over their constituents.

here’s the chartcrime as published in the alleged medical journal “the lancet” who has gone to such great lengths of late to beclown and besmirch its once august reputation. (LINK)

blue are deaths from cold, red deaths from heat.

can you spot the graphical felony?

look closely at the scaling. see how different the gradations are? it’s very nearly a full order of magnitude (10X) difference in scale.

this makes it look as if deaths from heat are somewhere close to deaths from cold or even exceed them in some places in the EU. but this is nothing like so.

fortunately, the chart police rode in in the form of always poignant bjorn lomborg who generated a new graphic using even scaling.

quite a bit different, no?

heat is a rounding error in “climate deaths” in europe.

here’s the comparison in one graphic to make this easy to see:

(thanks to onetime greenpeace founder partick moore who produced this.)

🔥 Let’s talk about the new climate psyop. Sometimes I wonder whether the powers that be were encouraged by how well the covid psyop worked on a whole lot of people, some of whom are still wearing masks and whining that we aren’t. These unfortunate souls were so susceptible to the government’s psychological suggestions that they would be happier staying masked forever. They have found meaning and a complete life purpose in the CDC-supplied goal of mask Nirvana, a kind of salvation-by-works religious conviction.

Surely you’ve seen all the climate hysteria lately, and probably seen lots of counter argument. But there are some things they haven’t been telling us, that are in themselves complete explanations for any increased world temperatures we might be living through this summer. It’s not carbon dioxide, as crypto-marxist, faux protest group “Extinction Rebellion” wants you to think...

Ready to learn something? Let’s meet the historic, record-shattering Hunga Tonga volcanic eruption of 2022, which I bet you never heard of. Back in January 2022, you were probably distracted by covid mandates or maybe by Biden calling himself “Senator” again. The short version is an underwater Pacific Ocean volcano named Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai, 490 feet under the waves, massively erupted, bigger than any other modern eruption, even bigger than Mount Pinatubo.

You never heard about it since it was underwater and nobody died. But the erupting lava instantly vaporized fantastic, unimaginable amounts of sea water, which billowed into the atmosphere, changing the water composition of Earth’s atmosphere and heating it up for years. In only a few days, the superheated water from the Hunga Tonga eruption blanketed the globe, pole to pole, East to West.

The eruption was so big it could be clearly seen from space.

Here’s an August 2022 headline about the eruption, straight from the NASA website:

... Over the next year it would turn out that NASA badly underestimated the amount of water Hunga Tonga vaporized into the atmosphere. Current estimates are three times higher than the original: scientists now think it was closer to 150,000 metric tons, or 40 trillion gallons, of super-heated water instantly injected into the atmosphere. Talk about a greenhouse. Water vapor — humidity — is a much more effective greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide. ...

But I bet you never heard anything about Hunga Tonga, did you? Thanks, media. Better late than never, though. And if I’m doing my job right, you’re starting to think, hey, maybe the hot summer weather this year might have something to do with this historic volcanic eruption last year? If so, you aren’t the only one. ...

Here’s why corporate media is ignoring the most dramatic climate even in modern history: because you can’t legislate underwater volcanoes. You can try, but they won’t listen. So what’s the fun in that? Corporate media only exists to further political ends. Since volcanoes aren’t subject to politics, why bother?

“Okay Jeff,” you say, “nice volcano theory, but does anything back it up?” Well, yes, I’m glad you asked. The Ethical Skeptic, who has done so much great work crunching covid mortality figures the last few years, recently turned his attention to the climate. He’s been noting another startling fact that you probably never heard of: for some reason, worldwide ocean surface temperatures have bafflingly jumped rapidly this year — much too fast for any cause to have been atmospheric. ...

Magma from the Earth’s core is heating up the water, which is venting out, raising ocean temperatures and putting even more water vapor into the atmosphere, which heats the air through greenhouse effects.

It has nothing to do with carbon dioxide.

Hysterical corporate media articles about global warming ignore all these facts. They ignore Hunga Tonga. They ignore rapidly melting Antarctic sea ice. They ignore abyssal water heating and related deep-sea data. They only want to show you the summer heat map and run clips of cantankerous teenage climate propagandist Great Thunberg whining that your SUV is literally killing everybody’s grandma and will eventually burn the Earth into a pile of hot ash.

Don’t you believe it. “Science” has only the barest notion of what heats and cools the Earth, and they even refuse to grapple with the evidence they do have. The climate has been changing ever since God created the World. It is the pinnacle of human hubris to believe that we know what the optimal global climate is, or to think we can somehow freeze that optimal climate into place without breaking everything else.

The person she was running against was a worthless Neocon democrat. I'm not going to look up his name.

She was selected among many applicants for the job. She's told what to say.

It's all fake and gay.

🔥 The Wall Street Journal ran an op-ed yesterday titled, “Climate Change Hasn’t Set the World on Fire.”

The article quickly dismissed another recent corporate media trope, that the number of global wildfires is increasing every year because of climate-change. Apparently, and unsurprisingly, that is 100% not accurate:

"Since the early 2000s, when 3% of the world’s land caught fire, the area burned annually has trended downward. In 2022, the last year for which there are complete data, the world hit a new record-low of 2.2% burned area. Yet you’ll struggle to find that reported anywhere."

The authors pointed out that, despite all the headlines about the Canadian wildfires, there were fewer fires in the rest of the world, and thus net global fires declined. Fewer burning acres each year have led to overall lower levels of smoke, which likely prevents almost 100,000 infant deaths annually, according to a recent study by researchers at Stanford and Stockholm University.

Furthermore, contrary to corporate media’s constant whining, climate policy is NOT the “only way” to reduce fires. Prescribed burning, improved zoning and enhanced land management are much faster, more effective and cheaper solutions for fires than climate policy, explained the authors.

For good measure, the authors worked in the facts there are now more polar bears than ever, and the number and strength of hurricanes has been falling, not rising. Thanks, Science™.

🔥 Last week, German news magazine Der Speigel ran an interview with the brand new head of the UN’s climate change agency, physicist Jim Skea. As the headline indicates, Skea admitted the world will not, in fact, end after a little warming, and warming “is not an existential threat to humanity.”

How about that? In fairness, Skea did ominously warn that the world will be more “dangerous” after warming. But still. Skea’s comments don’t seem like something that will make splenetic teenage activist Greta Thunberg very happy. Could it be a new narrative?

Finally, remember that increased worldwide atmospheric water vapor caused by the historic Hunga Tonga eruption is expected to raise Earth’s temperatures by at least 1.5 degrees all by itself. Which just shows you how little they really understand about the world’s climate.

The first sign of Global Warming

The first sign of Global Warming is higher temperatures at the North and South poles. Without warming at the North and South Poles, There is no Global Warming.

Right now the Arctic and Antarctic are freezing and therefore Global Warming is Fake News. At the Arctic, the Northwest Passage is frozen solid and Antarctica is cooling for the last 60 plus years. And right now, 2023, Antarctica is experiencing record low temperatures.

Therefore, given that the polar regions are cooling then some high temperature here and there is just weather.

That major underwater eruption last year in the region around Tonga has put and additional 10% of water vapor into the atmosphere. It's raining every week in the Northeast, and temps are the lowest overall for the past several years at this time of year.

'Natch the "news" doesn't report this. All I know is that the air is muggy as hell - that's the excess water vapor.

Lots of rain in the mid-Atlantic as well. I usually have a brown lawn in August, but it is now nice and green.

We are told climate change is a crisis, and that there is an “overwhelming scientific consensus.”

“It’s a manufactured consensus,” climate scientist Judith Curry tells me.

She says scientists have an incentive to exaggerate risk to pursue “fame and fortune.”

She knows about that because she once spread alarm about climate change.

The media loved her when she published a study that seemed to show a dramatic increase in hurricane intensity. ...

“I was adopted by the environmental advocacy groups and the alarmists and I was treated like a rock star,” Curry recounts.

“Flown all over the place to meet with politicians.” ...

But then some researchers pointed out gaps in her research — years with low levels of hurricanes.

“Like a good scientist, I investigated,” says Curry.

She realized that the critics were right.

“Part of it was bad data. Part of it is natural climate variability.”

Curry was the unusual researcher who looked at criticism of her work and actually concluded: “They had a point.”

Then the Climategate scandal taught her that other climate researchers weren’t so open-minded.

Alarmist scientists’ aggressive attempts to hide data suggesting climate change is not a crisis were revealed in leaked emails.

“Ugly things,” says Curry.

“Avoiding Freedom of Information Act requests. Trying to get journal editors fired.”

It made Curry realize that there is a “climate-change industry” set up to reward alarmism.

“The origins go back to the . . . UN environmental program,” says Curry.

Some United Nations officials were motivated by “anti-capitalism. They hated the oil companies and seized on the climate change issue to move their policies along.”

Yep, and I used to be a believer, up until 2005 or so.

None of their predictions have been correct, this indicates either the model is extremely flawed (if this is a science), or there is no model. I spent 15 years trying to find a model for climate prediction. We all have computers today that can EASILY simulate a computer from 20 years ago, no such model exists. You cannot test it.

I don't think there is a model.

🌋 And there it was! In black and white, not a mirage. It must be that the global is actually warming so fast now, corporate media had to shatter its news embargo, now forced against its will to gently break the latest limited hangout to all the folks who depend on corporate media to know what to think. The truth, long dormant, erupted on the Associated Press yesterday in an article headlined, “Scientists look beyond climate change and El Niño for other factors that heat up Earth.”

Wait. There are other factors that heat up Earth? This is mind-blowing. Who knew?

Now don’t get me wrong. They’re not giving up on manmade warming, not at all. AP referred to the baffling, unidentified third cause as “an accomplice,” and reiterated several times that the “consensus” of lab-coated grant-chasers all agree that oil and natural gas are the “main” culprits. A hundred precent. And the international news agency even allowed that El Niño probably accounts for some part of the world’s increasing temperatures this summer.

But that’s when things got interesting:

But some researchers say another factor must be present. “What we are seeing is more than just El Nino on top of climate change,” Copernicus Director Carlo Buontempo said.

European climate agency Copernicus reported that July was one-third of a degree Celsius (six-tenths of a degree Fahrenheit) hotter than the old record. That’s a bump in heat in one month that is so recent and so big, especially in the oceans and even more so in the North Atlantic, that scientists are split on whether something else could be at work.

My gosh! I was biting my fingernails down into stumps. They were SO close to getting it. And in fact, right at that point in the story, before they even got to actually naming the volcano, they included a dramatic picture of it, a hint or preview if you will, of things bubbling just below the story’s surface.

... But then, the AP finally vented the theory that actually does make the most sense and has the most data supporting it, such as recently-increased water vapor measurements worldwide. You already know this one, because C&C covered it in my “Overheated” post. It’s Hunga Tonga. In the AP’s words:

In January 2022, the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai undersea volcano in the South Pacific blew, sending more than 165 million tons of water, which is a heat-trapping greenhouse gas as vapor … The volcano also blasted 550,000 tons (500,000 metric tons) of sulfur dioxide into the upper atmosphere. That amount of water "is so absolutely crazy, absolutely ginormous,” said Holger Vomel, a stratospheric water vapor scientist.

The AP finished up quoting some cherry-picked labcoats who disagree and think Hunga Tonga’s historic, record-shattering eruption has nothing whatever to do with anything. Purely coincidental. They suggested maybe the real cause is sunspots or decreased African sandstorms or something. Don’t you worry your pretty little heads about that big, mean volcano.

But the article proves the word is getting out about the volcano, and corporate media now must do damage control. CNN’s article is a kind of limited hangout, recognizing that the eruption happened while burying the story in a pile of multisyllabic gobbledygook. But the significant thing is the heating of the oceans is inconveniently accelerating so fast that they are struggling to blame it on decreasing human carbon emissions.

To all of you loyal readers who reposted, linked, and forwarded the Overheated post — it’s working!
