Ten thousand Ukrainian troops are at risk of encirclement after Russia broke through the front lines and advanced on a key supply line from two directions.

Vladimir Putin’s forces advanced in Sudzha, some 11 kilometres (about seven miles) inside of Russia, crossing the border into Ukraine’s Sumy Oblast from the north on Friday.

Sudzha is in the Kursk region, which Ukraine seized part of last summer in a surprise offensive that has given them considerable leverage in possible negotiations to end the war.

It is believed that a significant number of North Korean troops were used in the offensive to cut the soldiers off, with the help of drone warfare to disrupt Ukrainian supply chains and logistics.

At ZERO point on this forum did i EVER say Ukraine would win head to head. I've pointed out obvious facts. Russia is not the military they claim they are. If all it takes is a little Western aid to stop the supposed 2nd best armed forces on the planet, that's a load of bull shit.

Even if Russia gets the land they're still the losers in this. They tore it up. Have to rebuild it. Lost many men and military assets in the process. Ukraine got plenty of supplies and money from NATO countries, not being in NATO. They are in NATO as a proxy.

Putin didn't do anything good for Russia. IF there's a peace deal it will take at least a decade to rebuild what was destroyed.

They will go at it again before everything is rebuilt just so Ukraine can fuck with Russia. This is probably a 20-30 year war with peace in phases. 4 years is about the lifespan of modern wars. We were policing in Iraq and Afghanistan, not fighting and some of our troops got whacked by an IED. Our loses were less than Chicago in the same time period.

Also Z is not going anywhere. There will be no elections for a while. He'll kick this back off in a few years when current teens hit fighting age and he'll essentially be a dictator. This is how Eastern Europe and Russia have always worked.

This will technically be a loss for Russia even if they get the land. Ukraine is already NATO at this point. Sweden and Finland are in on it now as well. I not sure how any of this is a win for Russia. Fine, they killed more people, congrats?
