Back in the 70's i was invited to a Portuguese picnic/BBQ and it was a really cool experience...The way the men stood around a big fire pit with meat on metal rods and another guy tossing aromatic leaves on the fire and another guy with a rod with a big slab of beef fat dabbing the meat..has anyone experienced that?

Isn't it pretty much what they do in Brazilian churrascarias too?

Grilled meats and beans and rice, every culture think they invented it.

One of my friends in college was half Portugese, half Yugoslavian. He used to slap one of his masochist girl friends around if she didn't tell him how huge his cock was during sex. It was my introduction to weird relationships.

I think you nailed it...isn't there a lot of portuguese influence in Brazil? I wonder what the aromatics leaves were.

The wife is from Peru, they grill antacuchos a meat on a stick variant, they use various plants or corn husks for a basting brush, to mop EVO, Vinegar, Garlic and Panca Aji pepper sauce over them while they grill. The oil will make it flame up, then the vinegar puts it out, and lots of smoke then steam to be had.

Does she have one of those cool "bowler hats"?

Portugal used to rule Brazil. That’s why Brazilians speak Portuguese. It’s definitely an influence from them.

Go to any Brazilian steakhouse on the weekend and try their 16 different kind of cuts. Worth the money.

No She's from Lima, we went to Machu Pichu one year, and I bought one for myself, because I thought it looked a Clint Eastwood hat. It's a bad ass hat in America, but in Peru, I looked like a Poof to those other blokes.

Probably Portuguese. The Half-Asian Portuguese Community in Malacca does the meat/veggies on a stick too, though they put in rice in leaves as well along with the meat.

Um, you may want to re-word that.
