Well, ladies and gentlemen, if there was any doubt that the United States military has been handed over to the ultrawoke lefties this makes it clear.

The Pentagon just released an "Equity Action Plan" which is meant to fulfill the leftwing, Marxist goals of providing diversity, inclusion, and equity.

From Fox News:

The Department of Defense issued an equity report, aiming to equalize outcomes for employees and partners across racial, sexual and gender lines.

The DOD released its equity report alongside all other departments of President Biden's administration this week. In the text, the DOD explained a series of procedural changes to better align with the White House's demands for "equity."

"While the Department has historically focused on increasing equity within the DOD community, the collective actions described in this plan represent a shift in the Department's approach and focus to better ensure that we leverage our capabilities to create opportunities for all Americans," the Department of Defense wrote in its report.

The White House has required all departments to put together a plan for "equity", which means Marxist equality of outcome, and I can't think of a more dangerous department embracing these ideals than the US military.

First, the DOD announced it will seek to rearrange its supply chain in order to open up opportunities for underserved communities. It will also bolster a variety of programs aimed at assisting those same communities in the area of military bases, such as American Indian initiatives and environmental efforts.

In February 2021, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered military leaders at all levels of command to facilitate "discussion of the principle that all those who support DOD's mission deserve an environment free of discrimination, hate and harassment."

The report continued, "This included a focus on how extremist or dissident ideologies violate the fundamental principles of the Department."

By "extremist ideologies" they don't mean radical leftists or BLM, they don't even mean radical terrorists. No, Secretary of State Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley have already made it clear that they are most worried about things like "white rage".

If you do not buy into the radical woke ideology of today then YOU are an extremist in the eyes of the Department of Defense.

In their list of accomplishments, the DoD bragged about their inclusion of transgender soldiers.

DoD took steps to ensure transgender individuals who wished to serve in the military and could meet the appropriate standards were able to do so openly and free from discrimination. The Department accomplished this by revising multiple policies to bring them into compliance with EO 13985 and EO 14004, Enabling All Qualified Americans to Serve Their Country in Uniform.

Military standards were changed in order to allow transgendered people to serve in the military.

And this is considered an accomplishment?

Also from the report:

Regarding the updated policies providing protection to transgender Service members, internal accountability on key issues focused on readiness, equity, evolving medical science, and organizational culture are reviewed by the Accession Medical Standards Working Group and Transgender Care Integrated Product Team.

"Equity" and "evolving medical science" are determining factors in letting men who think they are women, or women who think they are men, join the United States military.

What a woke joke.

And then the Army went woke.

It's funny. People who haven't been in the military in decades deny this, refuse to see it.

Those who just got out in the past few years confirm every bit of this. It's now like Academia,NGOs, Big Corp Admin, and Gov jobs - you have to do twice the work to get promoted in twice the time as a minority.

0 combat deaths in 2022, but over 300 soldier suicides. ...

In 2001, the adjusted veteran suicide rate was 23.3 per 100,000. In 2020, it was 31.7 per 100,000, an increase of 36% in the rate. ...

From 2018 to 2020, suicide rates fell across the board in the U.S.. Among veterans, the adjusted rate fell 9.7%. Among civilians, the adjusted rate fell by 5.5%.

Seems to me like Trump gave veterans hope, and Bidet took away that hope.

The Wall Street Journal ran a long-form story yesterday headlined, “Hypersonic Missiles Are Game-Changers, and America Doesn’t Have Them.” The sub-headline glumly explained, “The U.S. military is pouring resources into the superfast weapons but has struggled to develop them. China and Russia are far ahead.”

China’s and Russia’s hypersonic missiles can attack enemies with extreme speed, up to five times the speed of sound, and can travel around the world in an hour. They make most air defenses obsolete. They can carry conventional explosives or nuclear warheads. Both China and Russia have them ready to use. But the U.S. doesn’t.

To say the super-fast missiles are ‘game changers’ is to understate the case. For example, they are aircraft carrier destroyers. The Journal admitted, “Even the most advanced U.S. warship in the South China Sea could be defenseless against a hypersonic attack.” The weapons appear to make the aircraft carrier obsolete, ending a generation of naval strategy leaving nothing obvious in its place.

How did this happen? How did we get so far behind?

Wokeness.
112   GNL   2023 Sep 16, 8:58pm

"could be defenseless"?

"appear to make the aircraft carrier obsolete"?

Doesn't sound like a definite.

We've had hypersonic missiles (technically, reentry vehicles) since the 1950's - they're called ballistic missiles. Hell, everything from Soyuz in 1958 was a hypersonic reentry vehicle.

What "the media" is talking about is low altitude (> 100,000 ft) vehicles that can maneuver at hypersonic speeds. They are usually boosted to high altitude and use gravity to speed up, so their descent is largely unpowered - just like any near space reentry vehicle since the late 1950's.

IIRC, the US was working on scramjet propulsion (a much $$$$$$ harder problem), which would allow these vehicles to be fully powered for the duration of their flights. They would not need to be boosted to 60 or 100 miles, then "dropped" to glide in at hypersonic speeds.

Wokeness.

And lavish spending.

The cheapest solution is to boost something high up, and let it mannuever on the way down.

The expensive and lobbyist-MIC solution is scramjets, lasers and mass drivers to defeat hypersonics, etc.

Basically the hypersonic weapons are a smart/glide bomb like we've had for decades, just boosted way up first.

Professional military is the guys who'll knock on your door when it's time to be mobilized for WWIII.

PS. Or you can stop whining about 21 cent per day in nominal "spending" and give the necessary weapons to these who are willing to fight thus enabling them to defang and kick both Northern and Southern Hamas back into their borders before they gained more territory, more resourses, more industrial and agro base and pressed more captured populations into being their foot soldiers.

842 billion divided by 330 million people = $2551 per person per year for the US military.

About $7/day.

LOL! Hamas' resources don't come from taxing the population on its own territory, but from outside subsidies. Hamas exists to justify the continued impoverishment of Garza population so they can continue supplying cheap labor to employers in Israel, and once in a while the indiscriminate murders of Israelis (and Arabs in both Israel and in Garza) who have bank balances, so the banks no longer have to pay back the money.

The last time the Crusader Kingdom occupied Jerusalem, the Knight Templer bank drew money from both Europeans (as donations and deposits) and Mideasterers (as deposits). After the banksters squandered the money over 88 years, they had to deliberately lose a war to Saladin (by marching into the open field to fight a numerically far superior enemy instead of relying on very expensive walls that had always served them well against every siege), so that they no longer had to pay back the depositors. Israel has been in existence for 75 years. I have sympathy for both the average Jews and the average Arabs caught up in this mess. Most of them (both) are victims of the ongoing set of sophisticated insider-scams.

Yep, Off shore balancing is the way. If there aren't regional powers arsed enough to get in themselves, it ain't worth it.

Dude? What do I give a fuck about Israel? I live in the United States - this is THEIR problem, not mine.

If you think this is your problem, join the IDF.

I'm more concerned about the southern border, that Maui was destroyed, and Palestine Ohio is poisoned - you know, because this is all shit in MY country.

The Pentagon has to come up with innovative ways to improve and upgrade capabilities to keep up with potential adversaries or enemies.

I like this: https://www.navalnews.com/naval-news/2021/01/us-navy-looks-to-arm-lpd-17-amphibious-vessels-with-long-range-missiles/

This is smart as they can essentially turn a lot of existing platforms like the LPD's into more of a combatant role in order to increase the fleet size of Navy and Coast Guard combatant vessels.

Just like they were smart at looking at adding missiles to the Littoral Combat Ship.

The Coast Guard newest ships like the Legend Class and Heritage Class can be fitted with Navy weapons based on designed “for but not with additional weapons and sensors”.

I read the Legend Class has in the bow for missiles, etc. I saw also they Heritage Class can be fitted with Navy Strike Missiles as well such as on the flight deck.

...
130   AD   2023 Nov 5, 6:07pm

I like how the Littoral Combat Ship now can deploy Standard Missile 6 which is used for surface to air, anti ballastic defense. and anti ship capabilities.

They also deploying similar capabilities on the LPD's as explained above.

I want to assure you that, as we edge closer and closer to the kinetic phase of World War III, amidst a critical recruiting shortfall, our country’s top generals have their priorities straight. They are on it. Don’t believe me? Take a look at yesterday’s Fox article headlined, “Pentagon asks for $114M to spend on diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility in 2024.” It’s the most they’ve ever allocated for DEI! And just look at these lovely, body-positive uniformed "ladies" (don’t you dare call them ‘fat’):

Fox reported that the DOD’s DEI funding request “is the largest of its kind yet.”

Thank. Goodness.

Diversity is our secret weapon. The Russians and the Chinese don’t even use diversity, if you can believe that. They fill their armies with patriarchal, native-born, high-testosterone alpha males. They don’t even force recruits to walk a mile in high heels or memorize the pronoun chart. Ze, zhir, zim, Om, orr, ogg … wait, I need to start over.

So Russia and China don’t stand a chance against our high-estrogen army. Thanks generals!

In unrelated news, also yesterday, a $1.46 billion-dollar P-8A Navy sub-hunter overshot the runway and sank into Kaneohe Bay. Not that it matters, but unconfirmed reports claimed it was a diverse all-female crew. Hey, it’s a big, unwieldy plane! Landing it was kind of like trying to park an extended-cab F250 while checking your makeup.

Or maybe the crew thought the plane could hunt submarines even better from the water.

I once visited a Canadian Coast Guard ship and an American GC cutter during the Fleet Week in SF and was surprised to see that although the size of two ships was comparable, Canadian one had much more serious weaponry, including stuff like Harpoon AShMs, while USCG cutter only had someting like 76mm cannon and a Phalanx. So there is definitely room for beefing up some of American hulls.

I watched the Macy's Day parade and Al Roker did a phone call(?) with Joe and Jill Biden. Al asked them what their message was to America and both said that we need to bring America together. Too rich. They've been dividing Americans for decades.

Air Force base purportedly tells members to steer clear of conservative event, warns participating with such groups "could jeopardize their continued service in the US military"

I wish this were a joke, but it's not.

The leadership of an Air Force base in North Dakota issued a text alert to service members, cautioning them about the "risks" of attending a downtown rally featuring a speaker from the mainstream conservative organization Turning Point Action.

They can fit "Navy type, Navy owned" weapons on US Coast Guard cutters. For the Coast Guard's National Security Cutter, there is a mission module section in forecastle or front which can deploy missiles. Also it's new Ocean Patrol Craft (or Argus class) can also deploy Navy weapon systems.

I read the Coast Guard's patrol boats are designed to deploy MANPADS and MANPATS.

And both cutter classes (National Security Cutter and Ocean Patrol Craft) can deploy Navy UH60 helicopters.

I also read that the Navy considers these cutter classes as part of its fleet, especially in regards to the littoral environment.

The Coast Guards new Ocean Patrol Craft and its National Security Cutter is somewhat similar to the Navy's littoral combat ship (LCS).

I think I heard from a friend in the Coast Guard that said the flight deck on the Ocean Patrol Craft can be fitted with the Naval Strike Missile.

And I read the Navy is trying to salvage some of its LCS fleet as far as reinforcing it with missiles.

https://news.usni.org/2023/10/25/littoral-combat-ship-fires-a-standard-missile-6-from-experimental-launcher

I also read the Navy is arming more of its ships such as the LPDs as well to increase the number of heavily armed navy vessels.
