#precisiongaragedoors Yesterday afternoon I got something important accomplished. One of our readers sold the house that we live in. Many more of you are quite familiar with the house. The main part of the house with two bedrooms, the living room, the kitchen, and the dining area was constructed in 1941. (I try to imagine the people living in our house on December 7, 1941, when word came on the radio that Pearl Harbor had been attacked.) In 1954, the master bedroom with its bathroom and the two-car garage was constructed.
Our garage is 68 years old. It has undergone many changes over almost 7 decades. Automatic garage door openers were installed. The wiring and lighting systems were dramatically modernized. A Wi-Fi hotspot was added. What did not change was all the mechanical components like garage door wheels, cables, and sensors were never modernized. We were constantly having all sorts of problems with garage doors not closing, etc. Precision Doors came out yesterday and modernized all the mechanical components and sensors in the garage. Now it works right! The week is off to a good start!

So the garage door hardware was 68 years old and you had issues with it closing... and you waited until 2022 to fix it knowing this? I also highly doubt the coil would have last that long if it was a CA house anywhere near the Ocean. They're constantly under tension and if used enough that's usually one of the first parts on a garage door to bust. Anyone I know that's owned a home or rented the same home for 10 years or more has had the "assist" coil snap if they use it multiple times per day.

Sounds like a Sean Hannity plug. You forgot to mention how long Precision Doors has been in business, and a promocode.
Mention Elena and get 10% off.

Personal experience tells me 8-10 years to get a broken spring and the opportunity to engage one of your local garage door companies to get to get the spring replaced, if it is a two spring system the smart money replaces both at the same time even if the other is not broken.

Yup. And that's where 10# is correct, this is an ad for the garage door company. This person posts on other sites. No way a spring/coil lasted 68 years. They'll eventually snap even without use or would break on first use. Even in a low moisture area (rust/corrosion).
