This new poster has been on since March 22 2022 and has 200 new posts already. That's prolific! The posts generally take the form of "information" and Alarmist type stuff, and frankly I don't have time to read all the long-form. Is DooDahMan a copy-paste bot?
Yeah, I could Ignore, but I want to see where this is going, especially as we get closer to the election. I think we have an influencer running about?
"I got vaccinated and triple boosted in spite of all that Patnet told me! Damn them, Damn them all, I'm dying now! Go over there and punish them, it's my dying wish! Make them SUFFER!"
AF had insightsand good nuggests at first, wrapped in language ment to grab your attention. Over time the sthick wore thin, at least for me. By the end he (?) came across a bit annoying. I understand why Patrick banned him.
@Patrick can confirm if he'd like, but I've been around here far longer than my username suggests. Years ago when this was mostly a bay area centric housing site I posted under a different handle.
I've seen several people come and go...and some come back again. Iwog, EllieMae, BearMarket (wonder if he ever found his personal paradise in Oil City, PA)... the list goes on. Some had good discussion points, others just beat the same drum, some times incessantly.
As far as DooDahMan it seems he (?) posts frequently, mostly articles from elsewhere. Some I find interesting others I don't. This site has certainly expanded beyond economics and housing over the decades. Discussion tilts right as a general rule more than it used to, but I still find the content engaging enough to make this an (almost) daily read... particularly the humor threads.
I'll say this, I'm sorry for @DooDahMans loss. Genuinely. As much as I appreciate your sharing a bit about your friends accomplishments, being a mostly anonymous forum, user handles is how we come to know each other... so sadly I can't place whom this person was as it pertained to this random coner of the internet. Perhaps that's how the world have wanted it. Ce la vie.
I can't help but feel that if Jack is a real person, he only posts here because we're the only ones that will give genuine feedback. Rather than a bunch of thumbs ups from blue checks that didn't read it. If real, he's a writer that posts here and bounces passages before he commits them to his writing project.

I'm going to disagree. The left moved the goalpost and it makes a site like this seem more right leaning. I actually think most users here are pretty center/independent/libertarian.
There are quite a few users that go a bit too far right for my liking, but generally their takes are uplifting to some extent. It's not defund the police and sit back and watch inner city blacks kills each other as a logical solution. It's not burn shit down. No one here is overtly racists as far as I can tell and I have a black kid. Jokes are made, but generally in jest.
Just my take. This site reeks of Libertarianism. Which in my opinion is the most logical path to a better society. And yes, it can get a bit echo chamber(y) with ideas, but that's likely the reason we all keep coming back. But they're not right wing and generally not negative.
Other thing is I come here to converse, discuss, debate, etc. Linking article after article isn't engaging. I know how to read the news and research topics. Forcing your copy and paste links down other peoples throats is frankly annoying. But, as I've said before if I accidentally came across DooDah at an airport, I'd probably have a beer. It's kind of like Crowder, we have more common ground each other than people realize.
