They tried to get him out by taking a former US Marine hostage on some fake espionage charges, but the US was not interesting in exchanging him for much bigger fish that Bout character is. Besides, who cares about some middle-aged cracker Marine, right? Now, a colored trans "woman" is a whole 'nother story and xer arrest would (and did) cause an outcry and demands for the gubmint to "do something". Nobody is that geniunely stupid to go to Ruscia right on the verge of an imminent war, defying Dept of State warning against travel there, and bring some junk through the customs and then immediately confess. "She" is raking in a pretty penny for doing this, no doubt.

What a shame Russia is giving us this nut back.
