#70000Russian troopsdead I am honored to have Denys Davydov as one of our readers. He is literally "Our Man In Ukraine." He gives reports on what is going on one or two times a day.
His latest report was full of good news, shocking and verified statistics, and a sad report on electric power plants in a contested part of Ukraine destroyed leaving thousands of people without electric power. Here is the link for those who are really curious:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lyf3t2BgvPs

The good news is that Ukrainian forces are now in possession of Kharkiv and the area around it. Russian soldiers are literally running for their lives. Denys went into great depth supplying Russian support documentation to confirm that in the first 6 months of the war, Russian armed forces had 70,000 military personnel killed. If we use the ratio of three casualties for every fatality, we have 210,000 wounded. Please bear in mind that wounded Russian soldiers do not get the same quality of medical care that US military personnel get. Try to imagine all the young men and women permanently disabled.
Let us compare these awful statistics to those of recent US wars. The US was fighting in Vietnam from 1960 to 1975. In that 15 years, some 58,000 men and women were killed. US military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan (20 Years of war) resulted in roughly 7,000 US military personnel killed. The Soviet Union's 10-year war in Afghanistan resulted in 18,000 Soviet troops killed. China's 1979 90-day war in Vietnam resulted in 15,000 PLA troops killed. The Chinese government publicly announced that they could not continue to sustain such losses and withdrew.
Denys shared a report of the viciousness and vindictiveness of Russian military personnel sustaining the defeat in Kharkiv. Russian Navy ships far out in the Caspian Sea launched rocket attacks. These attacks destroyed electricity-generating plants in the Kharkiv area. Ukrainian armed forces use electric generators and are not affected by such an attack. The civilian population is now facing a winter with no electricity and no water because electricity is needed to power water pumps.

You mean fascist Commie-worshipping scum attacking a White Christian nation which did nothing to them? LOL

And, btw, the rumors of Ruscia being white is greatly exaggerated: it lies mostly in Asia and occupies many Asiatic people's lands and disproportionally conscripts mongoloids into their war criminal horde they mistakingly call an army. This guy is their MOD, for example:

Nice propaganda phrasing there.

First phrase is to set the illusion that the Ukrainian Army is so rough and tough, that the actions by that little Teet Mouse Putin has no effect on them what so ever. They can just use electric generators.

But the second phrase pulls at your heartstrings to give you pause about those poor civilians. Half of which, are being bombed by the Ukraine government, so they can blame Russia. It serves two purposes. Ukraine gets to genocide their political opposition in the country, without the guilt of the world eye calling them out and placing sanctions on them. Not worried about now so much, as they are for the future, when or if, the governments of the world are ever taken back by their citizens, with their countries best interest in mind.

The USA has been preparing for this war for decades, at the cost of untold billions of dollars wasted because of the aggression of the Russians towards their neighbors since WWII.

George Patton suggested that we fight them after defeating the Germans since Russia was our true "natural enemy."

I'm glad Ukraine is doing the heavy lifting, good for them

I feel sorry for the Russian people because they have a crazy megalomaniac leader.

Russia has bullied and threatened Finland and Sweden and invaded and absorbed other countries while never improving the lives of anyone.

Putin fanboy attraction is mysterious to me; so you guys would like to be ruled by him? Go see how life is in Mother Russia sometime.

I think Ukraine has killed all the Russians already. No more Russians to worry about any more.

Now, do we get our laundered cut back from all those American weapons on the black market?

This is simplistic thinking - you really think everyone in Russia is miserable? That's exactly what the propaganda said about Iraq - people are just so sad over there living a shit life, when in fact despite Saddam being a dictator, quality of life was pretty good, more so for women, who had massive freedom for a middle-eastern state. But sure we had to go in and "liberate" the poor suckers, and then we left them with a country where everyone was far worse off than before. I have no problems with Russia losing the war, the sooner the better if true, or come to a resolution during successful peace negotiations, so that we are done spending hundreds of billions sent to corrupt assholes in the name of defeating what is called here decrepit hordes of mongoloids. Does that not raise an alarm bell in your brain? And if you mean by heavy lifting tons of Ukrainian casualties, how is that in any way or shape better than negotiating a solution for the donbass and crimea regions and be done with it without more casualties? What does any of this have to do with being a fan boy? Projecting hitler onto putin is just bullshit, he had enough time to start WW3 but strangely enough it never happened, and now we're blowing up a regional conflict into megalomaniac world domination fantasies. Cui bono? Please

MSM crap seemed to trivialize Ukraine as a negligible, corrupt, poor third world backwash. Instead in all the vids you see all kinds of infrastructure, paved freeways, bridges, industry, vehicles, gas stations, sophisticated urban areas, huge factories, power grids, agriculture galore, etc. etc. Ukraine is a huge bread basket for the world? Whoda thought?
I had a client and his wife who did business in Ukraine and spent half the year there. She was a Russian trained doctor, but was just doing business with her husband. I never got clued in to what they did exactly. They probably just considered me too much of an Ukraine ignoramus to bother explaining, and they would have been correct in that estimation.

I think they are all are to some extent. I have friends who live in the Ukraine and some who live or used to live in Russia. And some in Armenia (Yerevan). All these areas seemed to have been doing relatively well, maybe not quite on par with Western Europe or the US in standard of living, but surely no "pitiful" countries with "stupid" leaders. Maybe a few countries are in the world are still fucked up by extreme poverty and extremely poor or despotic leadership, but it's simply not true that the West is so much better anymore. So this notion that people need to be rescued from their pitiful lives is just bs imo.
14   clambo   2022 Sep 12, 10:28am

I don't know what Russia is like today, but it was not a happy place when I visited it.
Maybe you have other personal information?
But, whether Russians are happy or not is irrelevant; what is relevant is their neighbors do not like being ruled by them.
Stating historical facts is not "simplistic thinking"
Repelling an enemy invasion isn't a complicated subject.
This is the war with Russia which we have prepared for during decades at a cost of several thousand billion dollars; I'm happy we don't have to fight it.
15   Ceffer   2022 Sep 12, 10:30am

I bought some 'Made in Ukraine' audio capacitors a few ears ago: outstanding build quality and they were probably the best of their kind even compared to more expensive boutique kinds from other countries like Japan or Europe. That was about all I knew about Ukraine up to that time. Because of blathering ignorance, I was surprised they came from Ukraine.

Mariupol' iron works, now completely bombed out, produced about 60% of European steel (heard that from a German who works in steel industry).

If it is not obvious that this “war “ is a proxy war between Russia and the west, with Russia having almost nothing to lose except cannon fodder (soldiers and equipment), and therefore Russia can just continue indefinitely until the west tires of losing money on the deal then here’s a clue. The war will end when Russia says it is over. And they have laid out their terms.

... until the very cannon fodder you talk about decides it doesn't want this anymore. As it did in 1917, for example. Read up on it. History is fun.
20   Eric_Holder   2022 Sep 12, 12:42pm

"The Russian Revolution was inaugurated with the February Revolution in 1917. This first revolt focused in and around the then-capital Petrograd (now Saint Petersburg). After major military losses during the war, the Russian Army had begun to mutiny. Army leaders and high ranking officials were convinced that if Tsar Nicholas II abdicated, the domestic unrest would subside. Nicholas agreed and stepped down, ushering in a new government led by the Russian Duma (parliament) which became the Russian Provisional Government. "

At that time it was typical for a peasant family in RE to have 6-10 children (a.k.a cannon fodder). Now in Ruscia's fertility rate stands at 1.6. Tell me again they will be willing to throw their children into the flames of unnecessary war ad infinitum. And if they are indeed so eager to fight, why all the dancing around calling the SCHMO a war and conducting a proper mobilisation?

So we all know this war is Russia vs US & GB, Ukraine are just the lucky assholes caught in the middle of imperialism at it's finest. Here's what doesn't make sense about the Russian haters take. If Russia is constantly getting fucked up, why does the Ukraine keep getting massive arms and MASSIVE cash donations(and foreign advisors al la SE Asia)? Are they shooting every dead Russian a second time? Is this kind of money really needed to take out Soviet era clunkers? Why wasn't this over a month after it started?

If Russia sucks so hard, why has this war gone on for over half a year, with NO end in sight? I mean no one can be that blinded by hatred that they fail to notice the HUGE logic gaps in the story right?

Ukraine is much smaller - perhaps 3.5 times smaller population, more poor than Russia (economy is smaller), and quite corrupt, even more than Russia. Simple.

With respect to arms deliveries, collective West have provided Ukrainians probably a third of weapons that Ukrainians have captured from Russians, although from what I read 80's vintage Western arms appear to be far superior to 80's vintage Russian/Soviet arms. Not to be a conspiracy theorist, but after this war PROFIT! of Rayethon and the likes will skyrocket since no one will buy Russian stuff. Another winner will be Turkish arms industry. And one more step towards Skynet.

NuttBoxer says

Agreed, but this is only one dimension of the conflict which precedes US by centuries. The other dimension is historic hatred of Western Slavs against Russians. Poland, Slovakia, Czechia (even with their anti-EU anti-woke governments), Macedonia, Slovenia all provide Ukraine with whatever they can. So does Finland and Baltics, no doubt due to recent history.

If Ukraine has Afghanistan's geography sure, but it's never been a historically difficult area to invade that I know of. And they've gotten enough cash to buy the latest everything, and recruit mercenaries up the wazoo, plus the volunteers you insinuate are probably coming from these other countries, plus the ones we know are coming from the US and GB.

Now, if we accept that they are highly corrupt, that would mean rather than using the funds for fighting, they're going into offshore bank accounts, and back-room deals to sell off the countries assets(highly likely), then doesn't that mean Ukraine's government cares more about themselves than their people, and is just as culpable for the fighting as Russia(more if they provoked an attack to facilitate these illicit dealings)? So in that case wouldn't it make sense to hate both governments equally, hate other countries for participating in any way other than trying to broker peace, rather than hating Russians, especially considering Russia is a dictatorship, and the people have little control?

Either way, the viewpoint of the media, the WEF, Europe, and the US, spouted by the war hawks here and elsewhere makes little sense, except as a propaganda campaign to divide people, in order to distract from what matters. That they're killing innocent civilians(Russian and Ukrainian), to their own incredibly evil ends.

I'd say that attacking side is ALWAYS much more guilty. See US in Iraq, etc. The attacking side will obfuscate and lie to cover up, but the fact remains that they are the aggressor. Does not matter if they attack a more or less corrupt country.

Not enough, unless locals are willing to fight. From what I know, Ukrainians have 2 very capable detachments of Chechens who have blood feud with Russians, one from Transcaucasia (Georgians and Azeris), and a detachment or two with assorted crazies from USA, Japan, Korea...who are there because they just like to fight. With respect to weapons, Russia inherited so much from USSR that the only thing helping Ukrainians is that Western technologies were much better, so even relatively small supplies help. What helps also, and what resident Patnet Putinophiles do not see, is that invasion did not succeed in February because of incompetence of Russian military. They were within 24hrs of capturing Kiev, Kharkov, etc, and only poor planning and logistics saved Ukrainians at that time.

Edit: a good analogy is Finland vs. Russia in 1940.

Explain your dislike of them. I do not understand.

Also, Russia will never pay reparations, the US doesn't. Find the weapons of mass destruction program in Iraq yet? 800,000 people were killed over that lie. Might makes right, There is no morality in war at all, only objectives. Iraq hosts a ton of US military bases now, that appears (to me) to have been the real objective.

They can NOT afford to keep it shut down anyhow. Oligarchs can skim billions off the top, but if the system ain't running, they're fucked. Russia itself might be without heat. This isn't just about Europe. Our ME wars were dumb, but we didn't rely on Iraq as a main source for oil for citizens here. I don't have a pony in the race, but Russia has massively miscalculated this. Even nukes won't work.

Their ground forces cannot even take Ukraine... I'm sure they have nukes, but it's laughable to think they'd function. Ukraine should have been a cake walk if Russia is some super power. We didn't "win" our ME conflicts, but we took command of the place when we wanted. That's not remotely what is happening in Ukraine. They're rolling in tanks and mortars. It's WWII style fighting. Russia is stuck in the 50's.
