This war makes little sense to me. Russia obviously has enough missiles to knock everything out. Yet they aren't doing so. Why? There are always reasons for everything, just interested in why is this war so prolonged, dragged out, and continues via tanks, infantry, and artillery.

Russia could end this war pretty quickly, but would it would destroy the country. Time is on their side - they have plenty of energy, they don't need anything from Europe or America.
I expect, now, for Russia to drag this out, because it's costing Ukraine, Europe, and the United States FAR more to continue this war than it's costing Russia.
War is ugly. To understand it though, think like a sociopath - treat it as a video game. How would you win against your opponent in the same situation? The US is supporting this war in order to weaken Russia, well Russia continues this war to weaken Europe and the United States. Neither group of sociopaths want this to end quickly. I think the US is making a huge mistake, but when have they not in the last 22 years of war?
