It's nice to be able to witness this crap from far away and not have to live in that environment. Seeing that the country is almost equally divided with no solution in sight, I don't see how things could ever get better. No civil discussion, no compromises, just name calling and anger.

I'd add, only expect money from people you know and trust. And I mean any money, including paychecks. Unless we work for ourselves or family, we are still putting faith in a payout from an untrustworthy source. Or at least work only for people who share your values.
