From the article:
Within the state of Illinois, 30 schools did not have any students read at grade level during the 2021-2022 school year, the report stated. Approximately 53 schools in Illinois have zero students proficient in math.
In 930 schools within the state, just one out of ten students meet math grade-level expectations, the report stated. In 622 Illinois schools, one out of ten students, or fewer, are reading proficiently.
They exist, it's just the parents running them now.
CPS (Chicago public schools) are some of the worst in the nation. That's were most of the shit results come from in IL. That's what happens when you have an appointed school board and not elected. Arnie Duncan was a CPS superintendent and then got up Obama's ass as education secretary or whatever the position is called for the lead person federally. That's fucking scary.
Some downstate school are definitely redneck. But generally they're at a basic level to graduate. Chicago has some of the highest dropout rates in the country. 57% graduation rate in CPS versus 84% outside of Chicago. https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2008/04/scho-a03.html
I'll keep beating the horse dead, but get the fuck out of cities. Or parts of Oregon, Washington, Bakersfield, CA, Nevada and New Mexico if you have kids. Oregon leads the race with dropouts. Was kind of surprised, but in hindsight I'm not. Chicago is a shit hole though that drags down the rest of the state and even nation besides transportation with the Great Lakes and canal to the Mississippi. There are amazing parts if you have the $$$$, but it's generally a shit hole (lol, just typed Chicago when meaning to type shit hole).
