Vladimir Putin is leading Russia to defeat and humiliation in Ukraine, according to one of Moscow's most respected military figures, who also blames the President for uniting the West with his disastrous invasion.

Retired army colonel-general Leonid Ivashov had called for the president's resignation a year ago before the war started over a 'criminal' policy in 'provoking' an 'artificial' conflict, foreseeing it would trigger disaster.

Now he says the carnage across the border is worse than he imagined.

Ivashov, chairman of the independent All-Russian Officers' Assembly and a former top aide to a famous Soviet defence minister, lambasted Putin, declaring: 'We did not expect such a series of mistakes, wrong actions during this military operation.'

'What happened in the end? Basically what we expected, but much worse,' said the general, a key figure in the Soviet-era Red Army and later the Russian military, in an interview with Republic independent media.

At the operational-tactical level, we did not think that within a year we would not be able to liberate the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

'We did not think that there would be such heavy losses, although I then said there would be tens of thousands of dead on both sides.

'But everything turned out to be much worse.'

...

'It was not expected that there would be such destruction: in fact, entire small towns and villages were demolished to their foundations,' Ivashov said.

'Further, I wrote that we would find ourselves a pariah state, but, frankly, I did not think that we would not have a single ally that has serious influence on the political, economic or military-technical level.'

...

'Russia in such a picture of the world is not mentioned at all as a political player,' he said. 'So now they will create a bipolar world, but without our participation.'

Putin's disastrous invasion of Ukraine had 'saved NATO' with Finland and Sweden due to join, he continued. 'We have delivered the whole of Europe into the hands of the Americans…' due to Putin's ineptness.

'There was no Collective West before, there were a lot of contradictions there. And today we are creating this Collective West with our own hands.'

Ivashov said Putin blundered by not properly seeking other solutions in Donetsk and Luhansk, before launching his invasion.

'Did we raise this issue at the UN General Assembly? No! We immediately moved tanks there. Every problem has multiple solutions. And most importantly - do not choose the worst. But we, unfortunately, chose the worst.'

He also scathingly criticised Putin for the use of private armies in the conflict, stressing it leads to confused command structures.

Looks like it. I was sure it had general's name in it but apparently it doesn't. So no censorship on p.net, thanks God.

Why do you care what some general says about Russia? Is that your home country by ancestry or something? If you're an American, shouldn't you care more about our so called president visiting a foreign country instead of Ohio? I just don't get the angle here? To wallow in the misery of war..?

What?

Is that the BEST that you can do, Eric Holder?

An accurate prediction. Not a small thing nowadays. Better than 99% of the crap in our very own dedicated thread (and elsewhere on the site). Everything the guy predicted came true (except for Turkey jumping in). Doesn't get better than that.

No it isn't.

Bah, did we read the same article? Predicted an actual long attritional war instead of SCHMO - check. Casualties in tens and hundreds of thousands on both sides - check. NATO consolidating - check. And so on and so forth.

And he did it at the time the consensus everywhere was that the war will be swift and there might or might not be an insurgency. All the "experts" were really disagreeing about was whether the initial pre-insurgency phase would last 48 or 72 hours.

Nobody did better analysis on what was going to happen than these 2 CCCP officers - General Ivashov and Colonel Khodarenok. That includes both our "intelligence agencies" and CCCP's GRU/FSB.

So, Russia has Globalists, oligarchs and sundry opportunists whose wagons are just as hitched to Ukrainian corruption and criminal enterprises as Biden Actor et alia. One would expect them to shriek with agitprop.

It's not Russia that is becoming isolated. It is the insane, Satanist lying West (foreign occupied foreign city state of Washington DC, EU, City of London, NATO, BIS, Swiss Octagon etc. etc.)that through programmed treachery has isolated itself from the rest of the World that is sick of it all.

Waiting for Rich Wicks to comment.

Russia never put forth max effort. Look at their convoys to Kiev. Most were Russian reservist and national guard with antiquated equipment and limited training.

I don't think it would have mattered much, cause I see the Ukrainian resistance still ongoing if the convoy ended up in Kiev.

Most of Ukraine east of Dnipro are more anti Russian after the Russians invaded. Its a war for the hearts and minds of Ukrainians living east of Dniprio. Look at towns along the Dnipro and they don't have the enthusiasm for the Russian government as the border towns in Dombas.

feels like im reading state department propaganda. nothing about this war makes sense. neither did 20 fucking years in Iraq, other than same faggots at the state department playing same playbook.

China...

'Russia in such a picture of the world is not mentioned at all as a political player,'

Countries still import Russian oil, gas, and wheat. Russia is constantly in the news, they just nuked their last existing arms treaty with the US. Seems like they are still very much political players.

Most people are against this war, and giving aid to Ukraine, across the sea and here in the US. Turkey is not in favor of the additions, and NATO is gaining WEF fame for their war-mongering. And to be fair, the US delivered Europe into America's hands(Nord stream)...

Eric Holder says

'There was no Collective West before, there were a lot of contradictions there. And today we are creating this Collective West with our own hands.'

See above. People in Europe aren't too happy about higher energy prices being attributed to this war, and US citizen support for involvement in Europe is probably the lowest it's ever been.

This mostly sounds like sour grapes. The one thing it definitely does NOT sound like is support for Russian or Ukraine citizens who are dying, for moving towards peace. Everyone's so busy hating, they have no time for the suffering of the people.

Satisfied warhawks? This fucking blood is on your hands too, you fucking arm-chair butchers.

"Let sleeping dogs lie."
Putin was stupid and kicked the NATO dog.
He forgot that NATO and the USA prepared for this war for more than 50 years.
Now Russia is fucked.
Russia cannot hope to compete against Western weapons and tactics; it's like Fred Flintstone vs Ironman.
It's too bad for the ever suffering Russians; they're going back in time now.

No matter how much anyone hates Putin. They must realize, they picked the wrong President to put up against him.
Anyone trusts this administration in the face of a full out international nuclear war, needs their heads examined.

> No matter how much anyone hates Putin. They must realize, they picked the wrong President to put up against him.

No, they put exactly who they wanted.

A corrupt, career swamprat who was severely compromised to begin with, and has a dumbass son who is a huge liability. That sort of "president" will be 100% malleable, and will allow the unelected PNAC foreign-agents who control the state department to dictate whatever Ukraine policy they want.

Keep waiting.

I don't see why all this bullshit matters. I know my government lies. It's not above them to either recruit a general in Russia or just make one up.

Bana al-Abed was that 7 year old kid in Aleppo, she had a "verified account". Well, she might be a real human, but there's no fucking way she was sending out Twitter messages from Aleppo. There's NO QUESTION for me about this. I worked on Internet infrastructure, if you can't get water or electricity, the cell phone system and the Internet won't work. They are FAR more fragile.

The results of this stupid fucking war will be the results, and what anybody thinks of it, won't change it.

I just regard this as another tragedy created by the same group of sociopathic assholes that have kept us in continual war, that hasn't profited the United States, for over 20 years.

Russia will achieve their mission goals, and Ukraine might be a destroyed country. I think Russia has ALREADY achieved most of its mission goals, and now it's just a question if an entire generation of Ukrainian men are going to be wiped out. But who knows? We'll know when the war is over.

The US hasn't really won a war in the last 20 fucking years. Iraq, KIND OF, but it's staffed with mercenaries now and the entire nation isn't under US control.
17   RedStar   @   2023 Feb 22, 10:15am

Ukraine has already lost.

The US and NATO have lost too, pushing China and Russia into an even closer alliance.

There's something pathological with people pushing this war.

I don't know why anybody never thinks "maybe these assholes are a 5th column" - they sure seem to be. All our wars in the last 23 years, have harmed this country.
19   AD   @   2023 Feb 22, 11:00am

A lot of the motivation is neo-marxist wokeism as the national security bureaucracy loathes Russia for turning its back to socialism and not promoting woke ideals like transgender indoctrination in the public schools.

Also it does not help Russia is a white Christian nation. Putin knows this and he is leveraging this cultural war to appeal to his population.

Whereas the same neo-marxists give free passes to the Chicoms as much as the FBI gives free passes to AntiFa and Hunter Biden.

I watch a lot of Youtube over the years, I like to watch videos about fabricators, travelers, and Science videos.
They are from all over the world. My Commie Radar is calibrated pretty sensitive. I catch propaganda overtones from every promoted content creator, but never have suspected any Russian video of carrying any Woke or Communist narrative. There's that Guy from the UK Bald and Bankrupt that tours neighborhoods around the world. He was doing most of his videos in Russia before the conflict. Now that idiot, is a card carrying Commie he is smitten with everything Soviet, and makes a point to say Soviet era, once every 5 minutes. When he tries to interview locals about the Soviet era bus stop with the real soviet mosaics. The local, is like dude fuck that shit, it's ugly from an ugly period a long time ago. He looks like he wants to go full REEEE on them for saying that.

So take that for what it's worth.
