Yes but there is a big guy that the Government pays, then the big guy decides who lives in trailers on a plot of land, and who lives in big houses near the tourist trap.
Most of Indians problems are the Indian leadership on the reservations. The Seminole Reservation in Florida will kick troubled drunks off the reservation.

It's the blankets. Gotta be the blankets.

Things may have changed, but that wasn't what I experienced.

Many years ago as a young man, I visited a Seminole U. S. Government Reservation in Florida. What I saw
shook me to the core of my being. I never saw such hopelessness and poverty in my life. Alcoholism was rampant. That experience gave me a profound understanding of the destructiveness of people living their lives dependent upon government handouts.

Whenever I hear about welfare programs for able bodied people, etc., I often think back to that educational visit to the reservation.

I live within a short drive to a large Amish community. I've had the opportunity to have conversations with several of them over the years. They are VERY disdainful of any governmental interference in their lives, and that includes any type of assistance programs. A few years ago, one man told me that the 'government people are always trying to get their foot in the door,' but they know, once it starts, the intrusion will never end.

You think they would be healthier with all of that alcohol consumption.

Ever seen the front door of a house that's less than 10 years old pulled off the hinges and used for firewood to keep warm, while not 100ft behind the house is a large forest? How about snowmobiles and trucks left on the frozen lake or river in the spring so that they could sink in and then make a claim and get a new one?

I have.

This only happens because these things were given to them by the government at the expense of taxpayers. Had they paid for them out of the sweat of their own labor, this would never occur.
