About time states stood up to the the feds on more than just cannabis.

Mis Suegros drove to LA to apply for naturalization for my wife and her brothers. My co-worker from Mexicali was very proud of taking the citizenship test and becoming an American. Fuck illegals. Supporting them is disrespectful to everyone who put in the hard work to do it right.

Fuck other countries, have some pride and fly an American flag first.

How does Biden manage the optics and narrative in an election year ?

its about being "compassionate" as far as having an "open border" ? Its not "being American" by securing the border ?

why not just direct the illegal immigrants to go to the official border crossings and ask for asylum or amnesty there instead of trying to cross over in areas like where the razor wire is being installed ?

.

There is a contract essentially between the states and federal government.

One term of the contract is the federal government will secure the border, as it is inherently a federal duty as per the US Constitution, just like it is to provide for a US Navy.

The federal government under Biden is breaching the terms of the contract in regards to border security.

Hence, the states like Texas are taking corrective action to secure the border.

Yeeaahhh no. Per the 10th Amendment the fed was to be EXTREMELY limited, almost not exist. San Ysidro border crossing used to be run by California. The smaller guy always trumps the bigger guy in a Republic, which we were founded as, not a majority can squash the individual fucking Democracy.

The federal government's responsibility is to secure international borders. With Biden and the Democrats its about an open border as far as anarcho-tyranny and "fundamentally changing America".

So yeah yes, the federal government is intentionally promoting an open border.

The states like Texas have every right to compensate for this if the federal government fails.

I'm not sure I understand this sentence. Who drove to LA and why it was necessary to apply for you wife's naturalization?

He's afraid to lose the left wing of the Demon Rat party. Hence the lax border policy and all the waffling and dithering on foreign policy matters.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – 25 Republican governors released the following joint statement in support of Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Texas’ constitutional right to self-defense.

The statement comes as the Biden Administration continues to attack Texas and refuses to take action or responsibility for the crisis at the Southern border.

“President Biden and his Administration have left Americans and our country completely vulnerable to unprecedented illegal immigration pouring across the Southern border. Instead of upholding the rule of law and securing the border, the Biden Administration has attacked and sued Texas for stepping up to protect American citizens from historic levels of illegal immigrants, deadly drugs like fentanyl, and terrorists entering our country.

“We stand in solidarity with our fellow Governor, Greg Abbott, and the State of Texas in utilizing every tool and strategy, including razor wire fences, to secure the border. We do it in part because the Biden Administration is refusing to enforce immigration laws already on the books and is illegally allowing mass parole across America of migrants who entered our country illegally.

“The authors of the U.S. Constitution made clear that in times like this, states have a right of self-defense, under Article 4, Section 4 and Article 1, Section 10, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution. Because the Biden Administration has abdicated its constitutional compact duties to the states, Texas has every legal justification to protect the sovereignty of our states and our nation.”

Signatories include: Governor Kay Ivey (AL), Governor Mike Dunleavy (AK), Governor Sarah Sanders (AR), Governor Ron DeSantis (FL), Governor Brian Kemp (GA), Governor Brad Little (ID), Governor Eric Holcomb (IN), Governor Kim Reynolds (IA), Governor Jeff Landry (LA), Governor Tate Reeves (MS), Governor Mike Parson (MO), Governor Greg Gianforte (MT), Governor Jim Pillen (NE), Governor Joe Lombardo (NV), Governor Chris Sununu (NH), Governor Doug Burgum (ND), Governor Mike DeWine (OH), Governor Kevin Stitt (OK), Governor Henry McMaster (SC), Governor Kristi Noem (SD), Governor Bill Lee (TN), Governor Spencer Cox (UT), Governor Glenn Youngkin (VA), Governor Jim Justice (WV), and Governor Mark Gordon (WY).

It's not, but more importantly, why does anyone expect the Federal government to help them, ever? That's a bad bet. Also, how many Republicans voted to secure the border?

Texas should divert all Federal taxes to securing their border. And seize any federal assets within the state, again to sell or trade to help get more walls, and more money for Texas rangers and farmers to properly defend their land.

The Court only let the Feds take down the Wire, it didn't say Texas had to do it.

AND, it's not settled, this was just a temporary injunction.

Art IV, Sec 1, Clause 1
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.
