At least 60% of the world's population today live in cramped cities. Having lots of kids...or any at all...makes zero economic sense.

I don't want to have to continue importing 3rd world labor and dysfunction and pay much higher taxes to make for less Americans in the workforce.

Aren't you Baltimore area? As a former Chicagoan 70-80% of the population is broke. I'm sure it's the same besides the DC wealthy.

On this forum you're probably correct. We all probably don't "need" it but will take it. We paid into it. We pay $10k+ per year. Max out basically with the wife and I kick in about half that. I personally don't pay as much, but have in the past. We pay the median family income in SS, taxes, property taxes, Medicare, 401k and Roth.

I don't want to hear poor people bitch when I pay $80k and still have to raise a family while they get hand outs. Fuck you.

Correct. A stabilized population is long term supportable with a 1st world lifestyle.

Something like 15-20% of Americans are foreign born like the 20s-30s, except unlike the 20s they are nowhere near overwhelmingly European in origin and our GDP isn't growing 7% a year with Sandusky, OH seeing 3 new tool & die plants open every year.

However, some good news is that large numbers of immigrants are like people moving to Florida: 3 of 5 end up going home. The problem is many of the worst welfare cheats that do stay begin chain migration of ne'er do well family members from Peshawar and Caracas.

One thing Western Civ does have a legit problem is "All or Nothing, 0 or 1, excluded middle fallacy". This is why a sprinkle of multcult is a good thing, but too much is bad and too little can contribute to stagnation. We should shoot for 5% foreign born in our population, or put another way, cut ALL immigration by 66%. In fact we should have a decade of no immigration, except for some H1Bs, limit them to masters degree and above, and require sponsors to pay $100k for the H1b Visa, to insure it's really a shortage, and not used as a wage busting tool.

It's not in the general interest to have a rapid asset appreciating but low wage enivronment, that's a recipe to become the 3rd world.

(Off topic rant about "Right to Work" somehow including mandatory overtime for non-Emergency personnel when an excellent, proven Free Market solution called 'shift pay differental' is guaranteed to work.)

We are NOT seeing a population decline, maybe a lower rate of increase, but still an increase.



Even so, espousing a need for enough new people to pay for retirees implies the level of growth I mentioned in my post.
