TL;DR: Kids need to learn rules, which have to be one-size and one law for all, in order to develop morally. Later, in life, they can choose which standards to violate in their personal lives as being superfluous. However, expanding a hyper-individualist, minimal rules/social order to the Youth actually PREVENTS moral growth beyond Stage 3.

It's the parents fault. Most people lack the judgement skills to make their own good decisions and then multiply it by adding kids to their lives.
This makes them be either too involved or not at all. Either of those make for bad outcomes.

Indeed, most of childhood is "fuck around and find out" in a non-lethal setting. The lack of mass siblings is also a retarding influence - it's a lot easier to know whether your child is the problem when he/she is making all the younger kids go into tantrums.

Alot of Parents (read: Single HoeMoms) are false Stage 6s who are really Stage 3s themselves. Less than half of all women enter Stage 4 in their lifetime, and usually post-menopause when they're infertile.

This is how single mom chaotic lives get worse and worse with each passing generation, something both Progs and Trads don't understand.
