Haven't been to Michigan in a couple of years. Michigan is the gay state and Wisconsin is the hunter/manly state. Saugatuk and Douglas are massive gay enclaves. I'd put Douglas at about 30-40% gay. Not a joke.

Michigan is just weird. A chunk of the state is separated in the UP north of WI. It should just be WI. Two major D1 universities attracts liberals. I just don't like MI. Plus the traffic getting around the lake is like getting raped multiple times in one trip. WI built out I90/39 to the max so getting north is much easier.

But to the OP, Michigan is a cat lady state is what I'm saying.

The only thing I know about Michigan is the way they make the O into an Ah in some words is a major turnoff.

That's a Canadian and Chicago blend of accent. I have the most normal bland accent. Wife has a 50% influence of Chicahhhhgo since she grew up just outside of it. So I get what you're saying.

Now I have a Canadian BIL and catch myself say ah/eh all the time. It doesn't take much. It's weird. Hang out of a day and you start talking like them. Usually goes away, but some things stick around. Totally another topic on regional linguistics.
