I had this happen today. My signature has deteriorated with age. Throw in a stylus instead of an actual pen, my first attempt was rejected. I joked that I had two forms of ID as a backup. Second try worked. As I recall I had the same problem last year. FWIW they said I can "update" my signature via the board of elections. But all of this technology doesn't "help". Bring back pen and paper. Screw these computerized systems in the name of convience.
