I don't know, but it seems to me that the Beirut Bombing was not much of a shock being that we were considered to be enemy military occupiers that were on their turf, which just so happened to be a war zone. President Ronald Reagan said sending the Marines into such a situation was the worst decision of his entire life. Who can argue with that?

In contrast, Israel is supposed to be our 'best friend & ally' in the Middle East, so the wanton, unprovoked attack upon the clearly identified AMERICAN Naval vessel the USS Liberty that was well within international waters seems slightly different. Kind of funny that you don't appear to have a problem with the fact that 171 AMERICAN Naval personnel were seriously wounded and 34 AMERICANS were killed in this heinous attack that was perpetrated by our 'best friend & ally' Israel.

And of course, Candace just has to be motivated by anti-semitism to even interview a survivor of such an historic event.

So Israel paid almost $100,000 in 1967 money to the next of kin. Promptly, within weeks.
Or almost ONE MILLION dollars to each dead crew member's next of kin in 2024 money.
