I want to express my opinion on this discussion as a person who used it.

If US doesn't want to issue the H1-B or any other legal visas i am ok with it. Because giving a visa and getting one is a privilege.

If US dont want to issue any visas it shows that it want to isolate itself from rest of the world. I am ok with that approach too. It will slow down Americas growth with these isolation policies.

My question to patnet is why this hate against India/hindus. We didn't make the visa policies nor control its implementation.

Their abhorrent hiring/promoting practices. Basically if an Indian guy becomes a head of a department only Indians are hired/promoted from then on. And more often than not the people hired will be brought in on visa. Seen it too many times in too many Bay Area companies to know it's not "just that one guy".

PS. To be fair, Chinese and Koreans do the same thing.

These don’t have the industrial-sized funnels that India does with Infosys, Cognizant, Tata, and others.

I agree they do that. If their hiring is not competetive wont the companies go under? My question is, why hate on hindus and Indians. Cant you ask your policies to be changed instead of going on racist rants? The ball is in American govt court. Not in hindus or Indians.

Majority of the shares of them owned by non-Indians.

Do these companies put a gun to US govt and ask it to allow Indians into US? Dont talk shit dude. US saw a benefit for allowing Indians and it allowed them.

Ask Vivek why he decided to go on a racist rant and shit on the American culture when he learned about Trump voters being unhappy with the policy.

Well, the unions don't seem to mind the Dems flooding the country with cheap labor, let alone scabs.

Not too relevant as most investment is passive “dumb money” like Calpers pension funds, university endowments, and so on. Investment managers see the Biden admin’s openness to mass immigration and H1Bs, and buy the Tata and Infosys fixers (plus Costco, apt REITs, etc). It’s just Wall Street following (or in some cases, leading) govt policy.

As for why Dems and many Reps want these population replacement strategies, some believe the hype about labor shortages, stupid Americans, and brilliant Indians. (While there are clearly brilliant Indians, the average Indian IQ comes from somewhere, namely extraordinary numbers of extraordinary dullards.) Some want to disadvantage job-seeking whites to atone for supposed historical misdeeds. And some realize the easiest way to meet DEI requirements for a top ESG score is to hire Indians — more capable than American DEI groups, more compliant, and cheaper. Bada bing.

Meanwhile, look at Intel, Boeing, and other tech firms to see where mass layoffs of Americans and mass hiring of H1Bs gets you. Problems show up first in the precision engineering fields like wafer fab or jet/rocket construction. It’s not working well. We should see these former marquee firms as canaries in the proverbial coal mine. Slapdash work, spaghetti code, dissembling self-promotion, and so on take longer to sink traditional companies.

That's the most puzzling thing in this whole covfefe.

BTW, aren't Boeing engineers unionized?
