Kind of a waste of time. I get it's just a name, but there are more consequences for mapping and maritime travel. I'm fine with Greenland and Panama, but this just seems stupid.
Having been to the Panhandle for about 2 years of my life I just call it the Gulf. I don't think the name matters at all.
I don't like changes to maps and place names in general.
I'm not in the business of GPS programming and maps, but I'm sure it would be a massive hassle and money drain.
Still don't get why a lot of Americans are so anti Mexican. They're good people for the most part. IL and Chicagoland has a lot of them. I know a lot of them. If they come in the right way I'm good. Don't think it's necessary to change the name of a body of water.
Knocking out 3 Mexico visits in 5 months. I like Mexico. We go off resort and have NEVER felt unsafe. Hollywood has really damaged Mexico's reputation. Are there dangerous areas, hell yeah. Is the South side of Chicago as dangerous, hell yeah. Can't criticize another country without looking in the mirror.
The coastline of US and Mexico are both about 1700 miles each, but the Mighty Mississippi is the main drain into the Gulf.
So Gulf of Murica!
