Through the end of the year, illegal aliens who self-deport using the CBP Home App can receive a $3,000 exit bonus per person— triple the current bonus. But wait, there’s more! Illegals will also get free airfare back to their home countries, and DHS will waive civil fines and penalties tied to remaining here illegally. Those who self-deport will remain eligible for future consideration for legal immigration, and will not need to engage in foot races with ICE agents.

It’s not clear how many have so far clicked the “Deport Now” button in their app. Given what we now know about widespread welfare abuse, it’s probably still much more lucrative for illegals to stay here than take $1,000 to leave. Maybe $3K per person will be more attractive.

That's BS and I disagree, even the $1K should not be offered. To me, it's enough to let them keep and take their own posessions. Is Homan getting too desperate to go along with this?

Some skilled illegal construction workers can make $3k cash in a couple weeks so it's not much for them so they'll try to dodge as much as possible. In CA, that may be forever. What's next, $9k ? And these people should be the ones to go so legals and citizens may get these opportunities. What's more likely is kids and deadbeats on welfares would take the deal and that's BS!

For example concrete finishing is a very skillful talent and in high demand. I've heard of up to $600 cash per person per job for a 4-5hr job in CA. Regardless of the sqft, that's the time window in which they have to finish so for larger jobs, they'd just get more finishers. That's still cheaper for the LEGAL construction company owner(s) who have these guys on speed dial. They still charge the full costs to the customer anyhow but pocket a larger profits so no net benefits to the customer and as usual, leaving out legal or citizens who may have the skills. I do not believe they'd be attracted to this offer so may as well be NOTHING !
