Lot of struggle personally and people I know.
California insurance market is broken!

Prices are almost 2.5x already in 5-6k already after COVID.

Looks like globalists don’t want people to own houses.

Democrats don't.

They fucked up the insurance market, and so insurers are pulling out.

Ricardo Lara as IC has fucked it up even more than it was before him…

One of the most needed regulations in the country is the Insurance industry. There should be rules that prevents, executives giving themselves huge bonuses, and outrageous salaries. Also end the residual model of how brokers get paid. It's a god damn required service, it's not optional. In many instances, any given insurance is a monopoly where you don't have options between companies. Just what are those bastards patting themselves on the back for, with bonuses and large commissions? You should be able to purchases from a Kiosk like at Taco Bell, and cut out every 100K to 1M earner out of the equation. Every insurance industry is loaded with gobs and gobs of insurance victims cash. But when it's needed the industry cries poor mouth. Make the CEO sale his 50 million dollar estates, if they are so short on cash.

They should be audited every year, to make sure the execs aren't pocketing the premium increases every year.

It's a business. That's why.

If you want a socialist state owned and operated company doing it, just come out and say so.

Regulating it like it is now and what you want here will only raise the cost more and reduce the supply.

The problem is it’s a business that everyone is required to buy from. That’s what makes it a utility imo. This is very different than buying a candy bar.

Yes: https://www.miamiherald.com/news/politics-government/state-politics/article300505879.html

But Florida state government has been working on this: https://www.miamiherald.com/opinion/op-ed/article301699944.html

The impact has been significant and continues to grow. Consider this: In 2024, Florida had the lowest average homeowners’ premium increases in the nation of just 1% compared to other states which have seen increases over 20%.

11 new homeowners’ insurance companies have entered the market over the past two years.

Among the state’s top 10 insurance carriers, 60% have expanded their business and 40% have filed for rate decreases.

The average rate increase has dropped from more than 21% in 2023 to a projected 0.2% for 2025. With major companies filing for rate reductions between 6% to 10.5%, auto insurance costs are also dropping. Since January 2024, 17 companies have filed for a rate decrease, and 34 have requested no change or increase.

Citizens Property Insurance, the state-backed insurer of last resort, saw 371,295 policies removed from Citizens through takeout offers, over 22 times the number of policies removed two years earlier — proving the reforms are working.

Who sez?

Buy your house with fucking cash. Or don't buy it at all. Or get the government out of the mortgage and insurance industries. Or better yet, all of the above.

This is all artificial constructs. Bullshit. Either directly cause by government interference or exacerbated by it or both.

Obamacare and food stamps are the same thing. Bandaids that only make things worse.

Oh Bullshit, that's a shitty copout. it's sanctioned gouging, and they a Fiduciary responsibility to have the cash on hand when calamity strikes. They don't because they rob most every cent they gouge from their captive hostage customers. A business such as that, still has a responsibility to not cheat their policy holders. It's not a business, when my tax dollars has to bail them out time and time again. You "it's a business, (insert some anti Socialist bullshit here)"
But then you guys never complain about them having to be bailed out by tax dollars every fucking time.

Florida like most bad things for America was the proving ground for the insurance companies to just get what ever in the hell they can out of the customer with no price caps, then bail on them when the shit hits the fan. We fucked up Auto insurance, Home insurance and Rick Scott did a fucking number on healthcare insurance before Obama was even smoking crack and giving blowjobs to get a head in Washington DC.

More cowardice copout. Sure you're not a Libby?

So you think paying cash for a house, and not insuring it, because you know the insurance industry is just a super soaker shakedown, is wise sound investment? It shouldn't be that way. You would be a fucking fool if you don't have to buy insurance, I don't my house is paid for. I would love to have insurance, but it's a fucking scam. DeSantis just signed a law last year, that says you can't sue your insurance company when they send a partial adjuster to your house and offer you just measly 5% of the real damages that you incurred. It happened to me after Irma. If not for the roofing company suing my insurance company(I had the mortgage at the time) I would have been stuck with $700 check they tried to give me. What I needed was a $35,000 roof replacement.
12   Tenpoundbass   2025 Mar 23, 1:44pm

So what says you that insurance should be sold through a Taco Bell kiosk so there's nobody getting commission or residual?

If you're against that, then I bet you make your living selling life insurance to preschoolers.
13   GullibleMAGA   2025 Mar 23, 2:29pm

California insurance says this:
https://www.insurance.ca.gov/01-consumers/105-type/5-residential/Top10Tips_FindingResidentialIns.cfm
Understand that the California FAIR Plan is available to every homeowner as a last option for coverage. The maximum limit written by the FAIR Plan on a residential property for all coverages combined is $3,000,000. Because the coverage provided by a FAIR Plan policy is limited to losses caused by Fire or Lightning, Internal Explosion and Smoke, it is recommended that you supplement the FAIR Plan policy with a Difference in Conditions policy to obtain protection from other perils not covered under the FAIR Plan policy.

Now you are projecting your issues on to me. How does that fix anything?

But go ahead. Demand more government get involved. Less supply of insurance and crappy product of what is supplied. Rage on me because your Taco Bell fetish doesn't happen tho.

WTF is your problem?

How is requiring audits of the books for insurers Bad government intervention.
You're taking irrelevant quips from my points, and making disjointed strawman arguments.
You're in la la land if you think holding their feet to the fire is somehow bad government intervention.

It's not like I'm saying they should have to insure people, and the government should tell them how much to charge.
I'm saying that if they are insuring people, for a set amount of damage, then they can't have a party and shoot out 100 bills from a money gun, while announcing bonuses and raises for everyone. When they don't have money to cover a small Gulf coast town, having a major event. You even skirted right past the part where I asked you what do you call it when we have to bail them out, because they made it rain up in their penthouse partying like it was 1999 with their customers premium payments.

Also they claim they need more money so they petition the right to do so, without any audits what so ever it's gouging and it's a Utility at this point it's not a business. You even skirted away from that point. Don't be an intellectual coward give some real answers.

Are you in the insurance industry?
18   GullibleMAGA   2025 Mar 24, 2:48pm

Problems:
1) Insurance industry Greed
2) Stupid environmental laws which causes more problems than fixes.
3) Poor real government oversight but too much bureaucracy.
4) Societal pressure to create houses more than needs inflating the total value of housing stock.
5) General California liberal idiocy on simplifying regulations.
6) Building in not suitable area due to unchecked immigration.
7) climate change

No. I am taking your points at face value and pointing out their inconsistencies/contradictions.

If you don't want to be held to account for such, don't make them. Easy as pie.

Tenpoundbass says

It is if it doesn't solve the problems you claim it would. Esp if it only exacerbates them.

Tenpoundbass says

It's not like I'm saying they...the government should tell them how much to charge.

Yes, you did. That's exactly what you said when you called for them being treated like utilities.

Ahhh...are you not aware of what you actually post?

Tenpoundbass says

How is requiring audits of the books for insurers Bad government intervention.

Auditing for what? Oh yes..

They should be audited every year, to make sure the execs aren't pocketing the premium increases every year.

How the insurance companies spend their profits is up to them...unless they are state owned firms. Even regulated utilities aren't that regulated.

Or is that TRUE statement an 'irrelevant quip'?

Because you want audits for a reason that isn't applicable to reality and I point that out?

Dude. For someone who doesn't like getting fucked in the ass by the insurance firms, you keep pushing for:

"Yes! Yes! Corporate dicks and your bought politicians! I want to give you MORE power! More ways for you to FUCK ME IN THE ASS EVEN MORE. And if someone in PatNet calls that out, well...then they are just making irrelevant quips to make strawman arguments!
My contradictory narrative shall not be challenged!

Tenpoundbass says

it's a Utility at this point it's not a business.

Again, you exist in magic land. Utilities ARE businesses. Pay attention. And their job is to make profits for their shareholders. Period. That is their LEGAL FIDUCIARY duty to do so. It sure as he'll isn't to you - ESPECIALLY if they are a utility. They only have to deal with the politicians who regulate them.

What planet do you live on?

Tenpoundbass says

Also they claim they need more money so they petition the right to do so, without any audits what so ever it's gouging and it's a Utility at this point it's not a business. You even skirted away from that point.

No I didn't. See above. I am flabbergasted that it is even a 'point'. It isn't.

You want to FIX this problem? Well, as much as can be anyway?

Have member owned cooperatives only be allowed in the insurance business. Wow! What a concept! Thus the interest of the shareholders will be far more aligned with the customers...because they will be the same people.

Also, get government out of insurance as much as possible.

That's a tad bit oversimplified, but the general idea still is far preferable to the status quo. There will still be rent seeking with the politicians by the coops at the expense of the rest of the population, for example. But it sure as he'll won't be as bad as it is now.

Don't think your dream of buying insurance at Taco Bell will happen either way, tho.

And why should it when buying it online is much more easier?
20   Tenpoundbass   2025 Mar 24, 4:20pm

So you Schill for the insurance industry?
Nobody on the planet can be that fucking dumb to defend the insurance industry with their last breath.

Listen up residual boy, I'm usually way ahead of the curve on these things. When I start bitching about shit, things starts happening. Things that weren't on anyone's radar. So buckle up. Comeback and ask me what in the hell happened when you're ready to have a sensible discussion without the all of topic shuffling.
21   Reality   2025 Mar 24, 5:17pm

The real issue behind the massive insurance rate increases in multiple different insurance categories in the last couple years is the government insolvency: insurance companies are required by law to buy bonds, and most of them bought a lot of government bonds in the past couple decades. The government bond market became a ponzi scheme in the decade leading up to a couple years ago (negative interest government bonds, etc., obviously illogical things that showed that institutions were buying bonds to sell to the next bigger fools, classic ponzi phase of a speculative bubble). With the interest rise (the end of the line of bigger fools bidding up prices (thereby bidding down yields) on bonds) a couple years ago, most insurance companies in almost all categories (from cars to houses to medical, etc.) essentially became insolvent as their reserve funds, mostly in government bonds, which got their value cut in half as interest rates rose. So what's happening in the past couple years are just excuses to raise premiums to replenish/refill the gaping holes in the insurance companies' finances.

WOULD A SCHILL FOR THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY PROPOSE REPLACING FOR-PROFIT FIRMS WITH MEMBER COOPS?

Right. On the 'fuck me in the ass some more, oh corporations-government complex' radar.

Tell us: How will auditing insurance firms magically stop them from issuing bonuses to their managers? How will their refusal to pay for your roof stop them?

C'mon, genius. We all want to hear about it.

If anyone is defending the status quo, it's you.

Are you just trolling now?
