Well, Musk claims he has started up a new party. The America Party.

Of course, on its face all that will do is split the right, giving Dems huge majorities and the WH despite not getting the majority vote.

In political science, it's called Duverger's Law.

This is how we got into WW1, the Fed and the Income Tax, kiddies. Also how we got BJ Bill into office.

Don't believe me? Google up the Bull Moose Party and the Reform Party.

BUT if you look closely at America Party's platform (or at least one of them floating around that Musk likes), it might pull some Democrats. At least the SV Techlord types.

-reduce debt, responsible spending only
-modernize military with ai/robotics
-pro tech, accelerate to win in ai
-less regulation across board but especially in energy
-free speech
-pro natalist
-centrist policies everywhere else

the listed treasurer is an Indian-born man named Vaibhav Taneja

Maybe he's a well-qualified treasurer.

If most of the names of the founders were Indian, I'd start to wonder what's going on, but a few are to be expected just from the numbers of Indians in the US now.

It'll fizzle like a dud sparkler on the Fourth. The main reason for this is to get some leverage to trade at election time. Elon wants leverage.

Yep most likely

Lol they need to cry harder to peddle this bs, he didn't wreck the country, Bill Clinton was a successful president by most metrics, and while Perot may have been better, Boosh would have been worse for the country. Perot actually saved the country from a worse presidency if you believe in the 57% vote grab which was closer to 50% in reality.

He made huge geopolitical mistakes.

It’s still early, but it looks like the new America party will be much more of a headache for Democrats than Republicans. The new third party is not a shot at the GOP’s base, which already has Trump. It’s a shot across the bow of the disillusioned Democrat diaspora: the Cuban-style former liberals who liked enterprise, science, and sanity, but got priced out of the party by DEI bureaucrats, bearded female swimmers loitering in girls’ bathrooms, and the constant nagging of the climate priests.

Strategically speaking, based on what we know, the America Party threatens to split the Left, not the Right. If it grows legs, Musk won’t hurt Trump. He’ll hurt Newsom, Whitmer, or whoever the Democrats march out next. Already suffering from NGO and union donations losses, ActBlue investigations, self-inflicted David Hogg PR scandals, cratering polls, and an incoherent platform, a new third option is the last thing the Democrats need.

Interesting. If the America Party decided to prosecute Fauci et al along with the Epstein customers, they may draw from the Republicans.

I'll go with whoever:

1. Prosecutes Fauci and all the other mass murderers.
2. Releases all the Epstein videos.

Even one of the two would be enough to draw my allegiance for a long time.

It may that by releasing the Epstein videos, it will take out enough politicians from both parties that a third party will fill in the gap.
54   Patrick   2025 Jul 7, 6:33pm

That sounds like a pretty good outcome.
55   HeadSet   2025 Jul 7, 7:11pm

I can see how the America Party can draw from both sides:

Appeal to Republicans who are disappointed with the Epstein and Vaxx lack of prosecution

Appeal to youth of both parties who see a future of busting their butts to get ahead while supporting the 65 and older crowd's SS, Medicare, and lucrative government and government backed pensions. Also having to pay big bucks for housing that the geezers bought relatively cheap long ago. The Millennials, plus Z now outnumber the over 65, and could vote in an America Party that promises to curtail SS and Medicare, plus tax pensions and kill laws that prevent building new houses, especially when the Boomers are divided between Dem and Repub.

Body count metric certainly, and intern cigar penetration too of course.

Interesting. FYI --> https://forum.policiesforpeople.com/t/enforcement-of-15-usc-chapter-1-to-save-healthcare-for-all/8923

I've heard of that before, but never the details.
59   FortWayneHatesRealtors   2025 Jul 7, 8:40pm

if it was such a guaranteed failure, uniparty would not be trying so hard to discredit it.

He murdered a lot of people, first with the virus, then with the vaxx.

It's possible that one of the relatives of the people he murdered will pay him a visit and administer justice.

Almost any liberal centrist that might like the America Party firmly believes Vaccines are unmitigated goods and while they may regret the hard stance against the "Hesitant", they still believe the FDA and BigPharma are wonderful champions of science and progress.
63   SunnyvaleCA   2025 Jul 9, 2:09pm

What do people think of using a "plurality voting" system? In the base case, it would mean multiple parties could vie for an election without splitting off voters.
64   Patrick   2025 Jul 9, 2:17pm

@SunnyvaleCA

Tell us how that voting system would work.
