The name Jonathan Pollard remains a deep scar in U.S. intelligence history. An American civilian analyst for the U.S. Navy, Pollard was arrested in 1985 for stealing and handing over vast quantities of classified information to Israel. But the most damning—and often suppressed—element of the Pollard affair is this: Israel did not keep those secrets to itself. It reportedly traded them to the Soviet Union.

Pollard’s espionage haul was massive—by some estimates, tens of thousands of top-secret documents. They included detailed data on American nuclear strategy, global surveillance systems, and even the identities of U.S. agents operating inside the USSR. The scope and sensitivity of the materials led Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger to call it “the greatest compromise of U.S. national security to that date.”

According to investigative journalist Seymour Hersh and multiple former CIA officials, Israel turned around. It handed portions of that intelligence to Moscow, likely as part of a Cold War deal to secure the emigration of Soviet Jews. Former CIA Director William Casey was said to be “livid” upon learning that not only had an ally spied on America, but that the Soviets had indirectly gained access to American intelligence through Israeli hands.

Isreal exists by hook and crook. They are friends of no nation and betray all. If it wasn't for extortion and blackmail it would be gone.

Hahaha ! our friend Israel sold our secrets to the opponents... what a joke. How can anyone at all, insist that Israel is America's friend. What have they ever done to show friendship? It is quite obvious, that the Israeli PM comes here to tell the American govt what to do. Israel is the boss. They do as they please, kill whomever they please, and never get reprimanded. I was curious when Netanyahu went to Hungary, but even big mouth Orban did not dare to arrest the super criminal.

Pollard ranks right up there with Julius & Ethel Rosenberg and should have suffered the same fate. Most Americans alive today probably have never heard of the Rosebergs either. (The same can be said of the purposeful, lengthy, all-out, unprovoked attack perpetrated by Israel upon the U.S.S. Liberty in which 34 U.S. seamen were killed and another 174 seriously wounded. Recorded dialogue between the Israeli jet fighters and their base command unmistakably reveals that the pilots and base knew that the Liberty was an American Naval vessel).

Here’s the scoop on the Rosenbergs along with rest of their sordid cabal:

Julius Rosenberg (May 12, 1918 – June 19, 1953) and Ethel Rosenberg (born Greenglass; September 28, 1915 – June 19, 1953) were an American married couple who were convicted of spying for the Soviet Union, including providing top-secret information about American radar, sonar, jet propulsion engines, and nuclear weapon designs. Convicted of espionage in 1951, they were executed by the federal government of the United States in 1953 using New York's state execution chamber in Sing Sing in Ossining,[1] New York, becoming the first American civilians to be executed for such charges and the first to be executed during peacetime.[2][3][4][5] Other convicted co-conspirators were sentenced to prison, including Ethel's brother, David Greenglass (who had made a plea agreement), Harry Gold, and Morton Sobell. Klaus Fuchs, a German scientist working at the Los Alamos Laboratory, was convicted in the United Kingdom.

PS: Aviem Sella, the handler of convicted Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard, was recently granted a full pardon by President Trump.

While in prison, serving his life sentence for espionage against the USA on behalf of the State of Israel, Pollard was granted Israeli citizenship. Upon his release from prison in 2020, Pollard relocated to Israel where he dedicated his efforts in the forced relocation of all Palestinians from Gaza to Ireland.

The most un-American thing I've ever read:
"U.S. states and cities that boycott Israeli companies will be denied federal aid for natural disaster preparedness, the Trump administration has announced, tying routine federal funding to its political stance."

To me, this is largely a free speech issue. ...

Apparently they have since removed this provision, due to my protests, and changed the story to reflect that. ...

WASHINGTON, Aug 4 (Reuters) - The Trump administration on Monday reversed course on requiring U.S. cities and states to rebuke boycotts of Israeli companies in order to receive disaster funds, according to a statement, and deleted the earlier policy from its website.
The Department of Homeland Security removed its statement, opens new tab that said states must certify they will not sever “commercial relations specifically with Israeli companies” to qualify for the funding.
