So Newsom is going to eliminate all 9 Republican seats out of the 52 seats for California ?

Those Republican seats only represent about 17% of the 52 seats, yet Trump secured 34.3% of the vote in California in 2020 and 40.1% in 2025.

If illegal immigrants were not counted in the Census, how many seats would California have ?

How's he going to do it w/o an constitutional amendment?

And this doesn't impact the presidency at all.
4   WookieMan   2025 Aug 15, 12:52am

Eh. The system makes sense but no one takes the time to understand it and they don't teach it in school. Newsom will get away with it probably as the majority of people are too dumb and don't understand the outcome in an off voting year.

That said if he has presidential ambitions he's killing his prospect of winning a national election in 2028 when more people are paying attention. TX governor Abott I don't believe had intentions of running, so he was in a no lose situation for redistricting.

He doesn't explain why he has standing. This dude is just a citizen. The federal government might have standing if he correct about what he says.

I'm enjoying the Governator redemption arc...

Newsome is deluded. Everybody identifies Newsome as synonymous with California DEI Drug Using Homeless Woke nonsense.
10   SunnyvaleCA   2025 Aug 16, 7:33am

California is already gerrymandered in the Democrats' favor. Doing more will require severe changes with little additional gain. Texas has the upper hand here.
11   psychoh   2025 Aug 16, 9:20am

Oh my god. I am not a fan of Newsome, but really? This is in response to Texas redistricting efforts and will not happen if they back off and follow the post census redistricting. Sorry but Republicans started this. If the situation were reversed it would not be ok either. I can't believe people are so hypocritical to complain about this. I guess it doesn't matter anymore as it is a team sport at any cost it seems. This is sad for the country and our future.

I guess insider vs. outsider is so baked into our caveman DNA that the only way to pull together would be to fight off an alien invasion.

but Republicans started this

What world do you live on?

How many GOP districts are in Massachusetts?

0

For how long?

Years.

The GOP never fought for any of this and now that they have, "the GOP started this"

Have to see what the 'new census' holds, and how many 'voters' have been flushed out by ICE.

I wouldn't be surprised to see remote voting FROM MEXICO accepted from illegals sent back across the border. They talked about it before.

Citizens of Mexican origin who have already made their bones here for generations aren't so inclined to be automatically Dem, but with election fraud, none of this matters.

He doesn't have the budget to conduct a new census. Unless he plans on using postal workers.

The Democrats will find the money for their ruse census in California.

???

Dems aren't conducting a census....unless they decided to make a BS statement recently that you saw that I haven't (anything is possible...like Biden declaring the ERA ratified when it wasn't).

Voters? Newscum don't need no stinkin' voters. Voters are a commodity to be purchased.

20   WookieMan   2025 Aug 17, 10:16pm

Even if Newsom gets what he wants it won't make a difference. It will be a wash with TX. Then you got purple district where there will be contested races.

If the economy is good and Trump can end Russia/Ukraine favorably to independents, there's a lot of Dems that are toast. My House Rep is running for her seat and stayed out of the Durbin vacancy for Senate. She would have won, but she's smart and probably too young at this point.

I think at least in IL she's the only black House Rep in a majority white district. Might be the country actually. She's got a really sharp Asian on her staff. I think she has big things coming. I think she wants to see how 2028 plays out. If Dems lose she'll keep her seat and keep going and getting on higher up committees and positions. I wish she'd primary Tammy Duckworth. That is one of the dumbest Senators. Not vocal like AOC or the squad in the House, but a literal idiot. I think when she lost her leg the explosion caused an extremely severe concussion. Or she's just an idiot. Not sure it matters either way.

Lauren Underwood would be a good Senator. Still probably party lines, but I'm not certain. She had Asians for staff. Not other blacks. Around these parts Asians give no shit about the LGTB crap. I'd call her an independent that is a Dem for the purpose of needing a party. Not a Bernie independent.

I do think she has POTUS ambitions but I couldn't go that far and vote for a woman. She has the potential to be the Black Obama though. I think there's a small chance in 2028. Geezers would hate it, but I'd at least say FINALLY someone near my age and state of life. A JD v Underwood would be interesting. Both are cordial and nice people. Mind you Trump is fucking hysterical, but some decorum isn't a bad thing.

I would say that the poll is wrong and Californians want whatever it takes for Dems to get more power.
26   Ceffer   2025 Nov 5, 11:16pm

AND, the Constitutional skeet shooters are on it right away. The blatant election fraud? For another day?

30   MolotovCocktail   2025 Nov 15, 5:38pm

Shasta got the shaft and Redding is now called Bluedding.

31   ForcedTQ   2025 Nov 15, 6:26pm

And All of the area surrounding Chico in Butte, Glenn, and Tehama county is getting the shaft too. The Demtards in Chico are all too happy about it…
32   Ceffer   2025 Nov 16, 1:46am

A step in the right direction, but too little too late. Politicians and Intels don't defraud elections because they intend to do positive good for the people.

Both the staged and election faked 'recall' and the recent gerrymander foist were 'declared' within minutes of the polls closing. The election fraud now has the character of insolent in your face arrogance. They don't even pretend to 'count the votes', they just declare a 'result'. Both times, it was '66.6 percent' who voted for them, which means they are even throwing their fake numerology in our faces.
