Conor Briggs, 26, claims he was driven to the brink of despair by debilitating heart issues he developed after receiving the Covid vaccines, to the point where he almost took his own life. Despite seeing multiple cardiologists and being hospitalized with pericarditis—a condition involving inflammation of the pericardium, the sac-like tissue surrounding the heart—following his second Pfizer vaccine, he says the only treatment offered was anti-depressants.

"The pericarditis was making my life hell," Mr. Briggs said. "Some nights, I couldn’t sleep because it felt like someone was standing on my chest or squeezing the top of my lungs. I couldn’t lie flat because that position made it even harder to breathe."

Doctors informed him that his condition was not severe enough to qualify for compensation under the now-closed Commonwealth scheme.

Mr. Briggs, who had been in peak health before the vaccines—running up to 10km daily while working in property leasing and studying IT—has now joined a class action lawsuit led by Dr. Melissa McCann.
