Hispanics/Latino vote in Virginia for Republican candidate
2012: 33% for Romney 2016: 30% for Trump 2017: 32% for Gillipese for Governor (and 57% of white vote) 2020: 36% for Trump 2021: 32% for Youngkin for Governor (and 62% of white vote and 33% of Asian vote) 2025: 33% for Earle-Sears for Governor (and only 53% of white vote and 20% of Asian vote)
I believe a lot of white federal government workers in Northern Virginia showed up to vote in mass this election to cause Spanager to win by that much of a margin.
I wonder how much of the Asian vote in Virginia was motivated by racism toward a black Republican candidate :-/
2 things happened in Virginia. Voting history and Earle-Sears was the wrong candidate. The media is just trying to spin the story against Trump and Republicans.

Earle-Sears was a good candidate at a bad time, whereas the folksy Youngkin was a perfect candidate at a good time.

Despite what The Hill states ( https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/5595939-hispanic-voters-leaving-republican/ ) there was no major drop off in Hispanic/Latino support in Virginia for the Republican candidate for governor.
