Fake news. Hospitalizations in CA have been steady, most hospitals are empty and ICUs have hardly any Covid patients. Plenty of capacity.

Are you like that with everyone? Mostly tenants huh?

I'm not a landlord or property manager anymore. Don't need to. And my statement stands. If this country is so bad either fix it or leave. I personally thought the country was in great shape. If you wanted a job you could get one. Lots of good things were happening. Traction was gaining on an infrastructure bill that would have helped millions of American either get jobs or make more money.

I don't know, maybe it is bad for you and the people you know. 9 out of 10 times that is self inflicted and blaming others or POTUS is a blame game instead of taking personal accountability. So yeah, I get harsh when I see people excuse making and pointing the finger. Check the mirror sometimes....

Rushmore was so renamed after a gold miner who evidently got away with extracting gold from Tribal land under the recently upheld treaty of Fort Laramie in 1868

The artist never finished the carving project and was a KKK supporter and very likely a member of KKK.

he tribe that owns this land should control who is welcomed there and who is not, and for what purposes, since the land is tribal territory.

It is said that the land is highly sacred to the owners of it. So all rights and privileges of ownership should belong to them.

The sixth amendment of the Constitution of the United States prescribes that upholding our treaties shall be primary in our rule of law.

What does any of this have to do with Trump?

There was a news article several days ago about some Texas hospital with "OMG, ICU is at capacity!" in the title and "28% patients with covid and the rest are w/o" in the body.

Out of how many ICU beds? It's hard to believe we have only 6000 ICU beds in 30M+ state.

Combination of this and a huge chunk of the population, boomers, aging into the death zone and having ailments that require ICU beds. And not from Covid. Heart attacks, cancer, etc. Regardless of how you cared for yourself, a middle boomer is like 65ish now? All bets are off once you hit that age, even if in seemingly good health. There were/are going to be ICU bed shortages regardless of this virus.

Summer flu season.
112417   mell   2020 Jul 10, 9:00pm

ugh CNN - fake news. Increased testing uncovers more and more, fudged testing for antibodies and suspected cases with no confirmation proof needed also increase numbers. CA has seen a modest uptick in hospitalizations, but almost all normal or acute care, Covid ICU numbers have been pretty stagnant despite "increased" cases. It may even lose its epidemic status if the death rate declines enough. Only path forward is herd immunity which we may reach after this "2nd wave" - good before going into winter flu season.

112419   mell   2020 Jul 11, 9:26pm

Yeah cause he was visiting wounded warriors. You can easily infect somebody with regular bacteria if they have open or healing wounds and you're in close proximity, leaning over or talking to them. That's actually the main use of surgical masks, they likely hardly prevent Covid-19 transmissions if you believe the airborne super-spreader stories. Try N95 at a minimum (better N99), again if you believe the airborne super-spreader stories.
112420   SoTex   2020 Jul 11, 10:29pm

Lots of salt-of-the-earth proud American TexMex people in that video too. The kind that Brd6 has mentioned on here.
112421   mell   2020 Jul 11, 11:09pm

Sick people should isolate while they're sick and only go out with a mask if they don't have anyone else who can get them stuff. Indoors masks are a good idea. Note though if it is airborne surgical masks won't help much. Theres a reason health care staff uses N95 or usually above up to full body suits. If we're risking overwhelming the hospitals we need to go into distancing / lockdown mode. Other than that we can only tell the vulnerable to stay distant til there's a guaranteed treatment or vaccine. And appeal to the sick - i.e. with symptoms regardless if diagnosed or not - to stay home til recovered.

I agree it's gone way overboard but I do still support the idea in general.

I really can't support it, but will fall in line if a business denies me entrance. The problem I had was the "expert" Fauci said we didn't need masks for weeks. Hell was it over a month? So if masks weren't necessary, but now they are, he was wrong. Who now knows if needing a mask is right or wrong now? 99.9% of the time I don't wear one and have been socializing like normal now for a good month. Maybe I got it and was asymptomatic. There's also been questions on whether some asymptomatic can even transmit it to others.

I still only know 2 people that tested positive. As the days go by I'm also questioning if it was for attention seeking, as they're the type of people that want that. I question if they're telling the truth basically that they had it. My wife has a network of people (~1k) that she knows through work and not one person she knows has gotten it. Not one. Clinics and hospitals by us are completely dead, nothing going on. A mutual friend of my wife and I is a ER nurse down in TN. Nothing.

I can't get anecdotal evidence from everywhere, but the media 1,000% is hyping this. And sure, people may test positive, but if they're not going to hospitals, who gives a shit? I think it's been around since December at least and we didn't get the mask recommendation until late April and early May? Now cases are spiking while wearing them? All this shit doesn't add up.

And now that the death rate is approaching sub epidemic levels masks are mandatory? Forever?

Fuck the new normal!

Kids need to go to school. Sporting events, art shows, rallies, and concerts need to go on. Life and culture cannot be held hostage for a small percentage at risk who could easily self protect rather than shut down the economy.

Fuck the new normal.

If you fear for your life, wear a mask, stay home, take Gate's vaccine, but don't insist that I do under threat of life and liberty.

Yep. One report showed that CV virus can live long on cardboard, up to several days. Maybe all this Amazon and other shipping is what is causing the CV to spread. Everyone is catching it from all those cardboard box shipments right to their homes. Similar to the rats/fleas that vectored the plague.

This is the biggie for me. My kids are in their most important years of learning right now. I'm intelligent enough, but I don't have the patience for teaching and I'd be the one more likely to do it because of my wife's pay being higher than mine. Our district sent out a survey asking how parents felt with some loaded questions. Not one fucking question had them in school all day like normal.

We've put too much effort into raising our kids for them to be morons. Not that public school is the best format, but home schooling isn't an option. We've started looking at private schools at this point. Our kids need structure outside of parents. Need to be held accountable by other people. That can't happen with this e-learning bull shit. And there's no chance 7 year kids are just going to sit there for even 3 hours with a fucking mask on. It ain't gonna happen.

Unfortunately my taxes are escrowed because I don't want to think about it. But now is the time I'd love to miss a tax payment and sue the county and school district. They wouldn't be able to do a tax sale with ongoing litigation because I'm being forced to home school my kids and pay for services not provided. And I have the cash to pay back taxes and attorneys. We need to fight this bull shit.

Possible but unlikely and not responsible for the large rise. It's all the youngsters partying since they can't work or go to school. What do you expect from them they got nothing else to do.

The problem is new cases include those that tested positive for antibodies I thought? Those could be from Feb through June and are no longer able to spread the virus. So it doesn't matter.

Also, every time I go to a grocery store I'd say 85% of the customers are 65 and older. Maybe a touch hyperbolic, but not that far off from my experience. AARP and any other senior organization needs to be doing the hard sell that the oldies need to stay home. Have friends or family get your groceries.

You shouldn't be leaving the house. You are the ones overwhelming the 1 or 2 hospitals in the country the media likes to report. Stay home. Nah, they'll just wander around a grocery store in the middle of the isle so you essentially have to brush up against them to get by because they're fucking idiots. I hope to god I'm not as fucking dumb as the old people I see at the grocery store. Maybe the mind starts going after a while and you don't give a shit about other people.

So you are torn between believing the lying media and what you have seen with your own eyes and info from people that you actually know and trust? Maybe one weekend you will go somewhere like to the beach and actually see 1000 people there and then the media will say nobody was at the beach and you will start doubting your own eyes.

Yes that too. They changed to include positive antibody tests and also very suspected or very presumed cases where they await test results, that's why numbers often are corrected or differ. Yes many of those probably can't spread it so this is a retroactive count. Even the stupid old people you see are not that high at risk. Most new infections are youngsters partying cause it's fucking summer and with everything closed endless holidays. I bet you could clean up on dating apps right now and fuck many of the few hot chicks left pretending/signaling on IG to be social distancing (too bad I'm married). It literally means fuck! me! I'm lonely! People yearn for social contact, actually even karening/getting mad at someone for not wearing a mask or being rays! cyst! deep down is a cry for love and contact. The opposite of love is not hate but indifference. The media and leftoid globalist cultural marxists are just exploiting these needs to turn them into negative emotions and actions. That's what the youngsters are doing, partying, fucking and spreading the virus. Good for them. Gets us sooner to herd immunity.

I wear a mask a few minutes a day when I drive because where I live, the cops will use it as a excuse to pull you over and fine you...but I wear it as a chin warmer, mouth and nose uncovered...and thats how i wear it when I go to the store until I actuall get to the door where I pull it up so they will let me in.....once I leave the store, its back down warming my chin....ready for the drive home.

But what could possibly be the rationale for fining someone for not wearing a mask in their own car?

I can imagine a day when the special police stop you on the street and ask, "Show me your vaccination papers".
