These a$$holes want to “save†these idiot FBs who got themselves into this mess? Screw them.
Painful to watch but God almighty you have to draw the line somewhere, otherwise every debtor will call themselves victims.
I keep getting invited to join a class action lawsuit every time some stock drops significantly. These idiots haven't figured out that I was the guy shorting the stock...ha ha ha ha.
Too complicated, adjust the gas tax and you get the same result without the extra system needed.
True. But with the toll road system it is possible to incentivize privatized road construction as well. With GPS it should not be too difficult to implement.
You also create an incentive for people to clean it up, I just leased a new Prius and I can tell everyone here that this is the way of the future.
I agree. My only worry is the recycling of the battery. Will that cause pollution?
EPAs are duplicated at state and federal levels also. It's retarded.
I do think schools should meet national guidelines though so I partially disagree.
One more thing: I think divorces should require court approvals.
Can we just eliminate marriage altogether? It is a pointless concept. I've been with my girlfriend for 15 years, and we have seen some couples marry and divorce two or more times. People change.

The only guideline should be the official language of education.
I say privatize all schools. They will then self-regulate according to the specification set forth by national universities.

I have great faith in the institution of marriage. It is by-definition a life-long committment. People change but something should remain the same.

You're the man, I am all for vouchers. I think everyone should start out on the same foot, with equal access to education, and the choice to get in to the best schools.
Eveyone telling me to get married has a divorce under their belt. It is has to be the stupidest thing I hear directed personally.

Hey orange was a groovy color back in the 70s just look at a Brandy Bunch episode... I have seen recent construction that is much to be desired for. Just back designs out there. I went to a new dev. and saw half of the homes looked great (Interior) but the other half was crap. But the exterior was all the same. Some had reverse floorplan. Kitchen and living rooms were upstairs while the bedrooms were downstairs. WTF.

YES! Education is one of the few things that should be subsidized.
Every old house I have owned has a bathroom that was once solid pink!
Thank God for Nancy Reagan telling people to just say no.
Education, and a healthcare safety net. We keep going round and round in this country, if we would just bite the bullet we would be a little richer.
Like everything else in my ideal world, you have a choice. Buy private insurance, or get covered by some government program.

Microsoft is being sued left and right for stealing copyrights/trademarks/Patents.. there is a AT&T suit for billions right now. A company down the street from me won $1B in court from MSFT. They proved MSFT copied their Patents. There are plenty others.
"The person who created the market for DOS is much more significant than the person who created DOS itself. If DOS was not created, Bill Gates could just have bought something else and made it great. Buf if Bill gates was not there, we will be asking “DOS what?†now. "
CPM is what we be saying and DOS is CPM ... Gates never created a market for DOS (PC) nor did he make it. IBM made the market for DOS, Gary Kindall created it. Gates benefited. Othes like Lotus and Wordperfect made the market for Business to start using PC in business. It too ran on CPM. All this spilled into homes today. And yes Microsoft benefited because they are evil.
All that Bill Gates did was to undercut everyone in the most evil way to gain in the markets. Even today they are ripping designs and ideas off others.

So long as the end-result is beneficial, who cares?
My wife just remineded me that Jupiter will retrograde into Sagittarius tomorrow. Perhaps it is time to me to make a change.
TOS says:
1- a$$holes, idiot, screw them…Skibum, Tell me, how high is your EQ??? or is it at least higher than mine?
2- And by the way, how come I did not ear from you when I was being abused as Casey, a troll, a realtor, or when DinOR mention the width of my a$$ or worse ….
3- In any case, it seems that the level of abuse is greater when I say something that is true but too painful for the JBRs to ear (like your reaction to the proposed moratorium on foreclosure )… so I am willing to put up with it
4- Anyway, I am willing to stop the abuses if I can expect the same treatment in return…
TOS,
1-I'm not comparing EQs. Just stating a fact - your EQ clearly sucks. Maybe mine sucks too, maybe not. I don't see why you care.
2-I'm not here to defend you. You can (try) to stand up for yourself-I'm not stopping you. My point is that if you are here to subvert or prostelytize, your attitude is hindering your efforts.
3-You can try to draw a correlation between the level of "anger" and your perceived telling of the "truth," but all I would say to that, is keep dreaming.
4-Again, I don't care if you are abused or not, or if you dish it back. You're just not doing your job of winning over converts to "the other side" with your attitude and approach. Just a little unsolicited "EQ" advice.
I’m a Sagittarius. Should I be alarmed?
Me too! I think we are supposed to be itching for a change.
Here is one article.

Eating too much, especially rich foods, this year will contribute to excessive weight gain unless you take extra measures to take care of your health.
Oh no, 80
1- The 30 year fixed mortgage rate in 1977 was not 18%
I have a tape of Dan Rather in 1978 saying interest rates were up in the 18s or 20s. I trust your data but rates atleast in 78 were that high.
Wow, that sounds good except for the excessive weight gain. That reminds me, I'm late for my workout.
I was thinking about a big piece of cheese cake. Looks like I should not.
@ the otherside,
yeah rates were moving so fast back in those days one could easily get mixed up. From the data series you provided:
04/1980, 16.33
Cheers!
I think the moral imperative compells me to eat cakes. I cannot help it. :)
funny thing too -
I think exchange rates were fast and furious at that time also. This is when I became fascinated by the markets as a pre-teen. I arbitraged cash currency between banks even giving up the 3 cent spread between bid/ask in the Canadian. I still remember the trade - one bank was .71 bid .74 ask and all others .65 bid .68 ask. Maybe the person who was to update the quote went to lunch - I don't know, but to a kid, free money is very cool! I did it a couple of times made a few bucks and then the day was done.
It was also about that time my grandfather gave me some $ to go buy pennys because the copper in each was worth more than 1 cent. He was correct on that arb. but it took about 25 years. Anyone know where I take those pennys now to lock in the profit? Of course now they don't put all that copper in todays pennys, do they?

Marriage is pointless if you aren't going to have children; It's essential if you are. It's supposed to be a well thought out destination; It's sad how people get married for all the wrong reasons only to end in divorce.

How about a monkey in every trunk?

Sound familiar? Yet another story from 2005? Nope... the publication date of this article was September 12, 1977 - nearly 30 years ago.
Let's look at some other snippets from this time capsule:
Does anyone know what happened to the housing market in California after 1977? Or was the impact of Prop 13 too influential in the resulting statistics?
And finally, the social impact:
So... this was in 9/1977. Now, it's hard enough predicting what 9/2007 will be like - but what do you think September 12, 2037 will be like?
Already, both parents are working, realtors are spinning the Bay Area as a place so great that you don't need to take vacations - what's next? Will child labor make a come back? ("Monta Vista High School and Fireworks Factory #88"?) How much more special can it get here?
(Bonus points for including Peak Oil in your prediction...)
