Original thought: Elections = Banking moritorium on foreclosures

With the recent GMAC and BofA announcements of stopping foreclosures, I got to thinking.... "Why?"

The publicly stated reason of "robo" signers is all BS.

I think they did it for political reasons.

To try not to anger the voters any more until after elections.

So now, the PTB can appear to be benevolent, so the voters will vote in the corrupt incumbents.

Then AFTER the election, if the Tea party Republicans get in, THEN the lenders can pour on the foreclosures, and blame the "Evil Republicans" for "stealing" Ma and Pa Kettle's farm.

You only need one house to be foreclosed on to create a "ma and pa's farm" story.

The number of voters who would be affected by this would be minimal. The cost per possible vote would be extremely high.

You're not really avoiding any news stories, because a journalist only has to go talk to one person who was foreclosed upon.
