Bill Maher opened with a joke on his show last night with the punchline involving Real Estate agents in Beverly Hills being the ones most excited about the civil unrest and exodus of rich middle easterners.... Think this will have any effect on real estate if we have an influx of middle east buyers?

influx of middle east buyers?

Did Real estate prices raise and spike when any one following groups migrated to the US...
Chinese before the handover of HK, Vietnamese before and after the South was overrun, Iranians before the revolution, Bosnians from Balken Wars, etc etc ?

More likely to move to Saudi Arabia than the US.

LA is full of "fruit loops", somethings never change!!!

Actually there was a distinct market presence of Persians in Westwood when I was there in the 80s.

I don't think Mubarak has the same number of henchmen that need to go as Pahlavi did, but who knows.

When we were in El Cerrito in the late 70s, a nice persian family moved in next door. They were kinda hiding out, waiting for their money or something. They moved on a few months later. . . Very nice people.

It bumped up gold/silver prices - but those will probably go back down when the events in Egypt are over.
