This is reality. He made a choice to have 7 kids. He cant cry now like he is a victim of something when he created his own destiny.
Well, our HHI is over 174 K, and we've got just one kid. Leaving in a cheap area with no state income tax, we manage. With 6 kids, I truly have no idea what would we have done.
I honestly applaud anyone who has 6 kids these days, whatever his politics.
What’s your point? Government officials in Wisconsin are overpaid?
Well let me see, a public servant being paid $174K for a part-time job for about 80 days of work. What kind of extra benefits and pension* will HE collect on top of that salary?
With $174K I could live like a king, even with 5 or 6 rugrats. Maybe he's keeping a second family with another half-dozen kids somewhere. Or maybe he's got a very expensive secret habit, or fees to keep his moat stocked with alligators.
Just find it a bit hypocritical when GOP begrudge other state workers a $60K salary who work a full year, who might also have kids, student loans, mortgages, maybe even drive a used minivan.

Maybe he's addicted to eating fuckloads of cheese-curds. What with food prices these days, he'd surely be in the doghouse!
170/9 = 18.8k per person per year. Thats WAY more than I had in college… Sounds like they aren’t eating enough Top Ramen
Eh? It's 8 people. The "family of seven" is oddly stated, but refers to 6 kids plus his wife are riding on his paycheck. Anyhow, assumedly no daycare fees as Rachel Campos-Duffy is a stay-at-home mom. Of course maybe he's sending them all to private schools, and she's sitting at home buffing her nails between Real World reunions and popping out kids. Anyways by the standards of most people in "flyover country" he's going to have a hard time selling $174K as "I'm just like you".
But yes, I encourage mailing Ramen, perhaps some Mac & Cheese, or other food care packages. The man is obviously struggling, but couldn't STAND to be seen driving his used minivan to pick up food at a community food bank. Maybe he forgot to mention he's about to default on his mortgage and could we all kick up a few million towards Bank of America?
No doubt he's a hypocrite.
There's a pretty good case though to be made for paying congressmen well. Just pay them for 80 days work and the only people you get in office are are people that are already millionaires and don't care about the salary, or ones that are looking forward to kickbacks and don't care about the salary.
Mostly just playing devil's advocate here. I don't think there are many people that could watch that video and not cringe.

I agree but 1 person cannot speak for the whole. This guy obviously isnt very smart when it comes to planning his families future as after the 2nd child he should of known that he would only take away from his kids quality of life by adding more financial responsibility.

Or the ones who actually want to make a difference.
This article only proves how overpaid and spoiled unionized public workers are. I mean $174,000 for a part time job? Maybe we should break up those gredy unions. Oh no, wait a second, memebrs of Congress do not belong to a union. OOPS!
"In case ANY of you are still wondering why public sector workers in general and public sector unions in particular (because they are the enablers of all this) are getting majorly trashed on all over the place now…this would be a fine example of WHY."
Members of Congress are not exactly "public sector" workers.
Vicente says
I can guarantee you, or most of you, I guarantee that I have more debt than all of you…
No shit, buddy? Well..WAS I the guy who grabbed your hand and made you pick up that pen and sign your signature on the loan docs?
As for your seven kids, was I involved in making any of them? No…not unless you’re married to [name withheld to protect shrekgrinch] who lives in my apartment complex.
In case ANY of you are still wondering why public sector workers in general and public sector unions in particular (because they are the enablers of all this) and ESPECIALLY elected officials are getting majorly trashed on all over the place now…this would be a fine example of WHY.
OMG. Is this the story of Vicente?
Man this sob story just makes the tears well up in my eyes:
He must have some hellacious student loan debt that all he can afford is a used minivan. We should hold a fundraising telethon for this man.
